Maserati Facing Huge Losses Owing to Strike at Chief Manufacturing Unit
|   Friday, June 20, 2014
200 out of Maserati's complete work force of 2,019 employees have gone on strike, against the poor state of working conditions, invoking heavy rebuttal from parent firm Fiat-Chrysler. This situation has been worsening since the past few months, as issues ranging from stalled project contracts to August holidays, plagued the manufacturing unit.

This strike was organized by members of the FIOM (Federazione Impiegati Operai Metallurgici), which resulted in the loss of valuable time and resources.
Maserati would have manufactured an additional 11 vehicles within this time frame. The Fiat-Chrysler alliance is comparatively new and such a setback in their stride could cause some serious problems in the long run.

At a time when unemployment has grasped a major part of Italy, this strike is completely uncalled for and harms the entire Italian economy. Demand for Maserati's latest lineup is high, which is good news, if production resumes normally. Stay tuned for more updates on this!
