Manual transmission in the BMW M6
|   Monday, June 11, 2012
All those who had been waiting for BMW to launch its vehicles need not to wait anymore. It's because the BMW M6 Coupe and the BMW M6 Convertible will be hitting the showrooms this summer. Both the concepts will be featuring 4.4 litre V-8 engine with 560 horsepower along with a 7 speed M DCT gear box.

This M DCT gear box will enable the one driver to execute gears in a smooth way with the lowest lap time. However, it will not be delivering the kind of satisfaction that will be delivered with the manual transmission.

Car and Driver has revealed some information about these concepts. It is said that along with the M-DCT gear transmission box, the vehicles will also be featuring a 6 speed manual option.

The consumers in USA seem to be glad to know that they can gear it up according to their choice. You may not know this thing but it was some American consumer who gave this opinion to BMW for including a manual transmission option for the M5 version. Therefore, BMW has decided to follow the same for the BMW M6 Coupe and the BMW M6 Convertible.

When we come to the Europeans on the other hand, then they are really glad with the automatic transmission concept and the fact that the vehicle will be fuel efficient too. This shows that the Americans and the Europeans have completely different preferences. The Americans want manual transmission while the Europeans want automatic one.

It is said that the manual M6 version will not be a success for long. It will be praised till BMW will be making use of the manual option in its cars. If we take a look at the automotive companies such as Mercedes Benz and Ferrari then these companies don't bother about the manual transmissions much but when we take a look at BMW then it is trying to encourage and promote the usage of auto transmission in its cars.

BMW had revealed information about the concepts of both BMW M6 Coupe and the BMW M6 Convertible at the 2012 Geneva motor show. These vehicles are now expected to be launched this year.

The price of the BMW M6 Convertible will be 113, 995 dollars and it will include another 1000 dollars for destination and other logistics. It will arrive this June whereas it is said that the BMW M6 Coupe will come later this summer and its price will be 106, 995 dollars.

The customers in America will sure going to love these two models because they will be featuring the manual transmission. You can tune in for more details by surfing through the web and see what more specs will be included in both the models. You will find plenty of images, videos and other info related to the two. Nevertheless, whether you like the idea or not, it sure is expected that people will start to get use to this gear box soon. But till then let's wait for their launch.
