Jaguar Land Rover has announced plans to build the Jaguar XF in India to reduce cost of production and hence increase competition in the surrounding market. The parts of the XF will be imported from the Jaguar Land Rover plant in Castle Bromwich and the vehicle will be manufactured along with the Land Rover Freelander 2. Jaguar Land Rover has set up its facility in Pune and the cars which will be available in India will be powered by a 2.2 liter diesel engine.

Mitsubishi Motors has sent out an urgent recall notice to bring in close to 14,700 electric vehicles sold worldwide, to repair a minor problem in the brake booster pump. The recall was affect mostly the European customers as the parts have been used by Mitsubishi's sister firms as well, namely the Citroen C Zero and the Peugeot iOn.

Alfa Romeo has announced a five year warranty program on the Giulietta and the Mito and this offer is set to stay in till March 2013. Buyers are entitled to an unlimited mileage warranty for three year followed by a 100,000 mile warranty for the following two years. People opting to buy the Giulietta will also get an additional £2000 deposit bonus and this offer is also valid till March 2013.

The Ford Fiesta has been the bestselling vehicle in Europe in 2012, selling a total number of 300,000 units. This amounts to one unit being sold every two minutes. The Fiesta has been Ford's bestselling vehicle in Europe since 2009 and with the latest upgrade the vehicle has broken all past records. Europe accounted for 109,250 units of the Fiesta being sold and this was the highest in any singular country across the world.

Peugeot Citroen PSA ad General Motors have agreed to work on the next big project together and the vehicle has been named the Zafira. PSA will be providing the platform for developing the Zafira and it is expected to be built on the same C platform as that of the current Vauxhall Opel.
GM will be in charge of developing the vehicle and will also design the vehicle, which is successor to the Meriva. Although both the vehicles are designed on two separate platforms, GM will be developing an MPV based on the B Segment. This MPV is expected to sit below the Citroen Peugeot 3008 and will feature advanced features as compared to the current model.

The firms are expected to work together closely on a new power train development program which will reduce CO2 emission while increasing the fuel efficiency and the performance of the three cylinder engine is also set to be tuned. PSA and GM have been working together in the EB platform and this was being developed independently by PSA since 2008 before GM decided to come on board. This engine is currently used in the Peugeot 208 and an upgraded ride could be ready by year end considering the progress. There seems to be a lot of action in the European automotive industry lately.
