Looking at the future of Volvo
|   Saturday, August 18, 2012
Volvo seems to be determined to make it's name in the coming years. The Auto Maker has been investing in technology to improve the models performance and luxury just to beat many of the already Auto Giants in the market. The Auto Market seems to have been focusing on increasing the luxury hatchback market tremendously. BMW, Audi and even Mercedes seems to have been offering new 5 door sedans and Volvo is not one to stay out of this recent new trend.

Volvo has finally revealed the specifications and designs of the NEW Volvo V40 which expected to be a real game changer in 2014. The car was previews in the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and created quiet a stir. The car was a result of the new Human Centric, Designed for you strategy and will be competing with the Audi A3 and BMW 1 series, similar 5 door hatchbacks that are already favorites in the market. The line up of the models starts with a first ever diesel engine which is a new revolution in Volvo Models.

The engine boosts is designed to boost CO2 emissions to 94g/Km giving it an excellent mileage rating. That is however not what the models have yet to offer, the car also comes with supercharged T5 petrol engine with nearly 250 horsepower that lets you drag the car from 0-60 in less than 6 seconds. The company has paid extreme attention in the details of the car and decided that the new model would be modern, sporty and stylish, just what the market expects and needs in 2014. The interior design is to make the driver feel like they are inside an airplane cockpit, giving graphical instruments and personalized designs.

The Volvo V40 is not the only thing the Auto Giant is working on. The Company has been investing a new architectural design for it's new models. The architecture named the Scalable Platform Architecture has been designed to create a new line up of 4 cylinder engines expected to be available by 2014. The 2014 XC90 crossover will the first of many to have this architecture. The Swedish Auto maker is planning to open up manufacturing plants in North America and share the development cost with other Auto makers in the region such as FIAT. The company also intends to launch a series of Hybrid Gasoline cars in many of the models such as the XC60 and S60 in 2014. That will however, require the company to put a hold on the SPA architecture for it's models. Quiet a dilemma if you ask me.

The company has also been redisgning it's vehicle to meet consumer tastes and demands. The new models such as the awaited Volvo V40 are to be installed with sun roofs that feature ultra-sleek panoramic glass roof tops that will allow to bring in more sunshine in to the car without allowing too much heat to be trapped inside. Truly Volvo intends to change it's impression in the market and become a leading brand.
