The final edition of the V8 powered Formula One season is set to commence on the 17th of February in Australia. According to the governing body, from the 2014 season onwards, the constructors will have to design 1.6 liter turbo charged V6 engine based vehicles. Some of the constructors though of redesigning the engine on the vehicle instead of designing the whole vehicle and hence this year has a vast variety of vehicles from different constructors.

Sahara Force India's race car for the 2013 season of the Formula One is known as the VJM06. This vehicle is an alteration of the Mercedes powered Formula One vehicle rather than a whole new creation. The nose and side panels have been redesigned to maintain the norms set up by the governing body and that is the only major difference that this car sports.

Ferrari's car for the 2013 season is the F138. This vehicle sports the duck bill nose and the lower half of the vehicle has been put through some serious changes, hence improving the aerodynamics of the vehicle. The F138 however has received juts minor modifications to the exterior and when compared to their race car used in 2012, the vehicle uses the same engine with some minor body work.

Lotus is still using the Renault powered engine that was used in the 2012 season as the car was very successful last year. The front and rear suspension along with the nose has been enhanced to improve the aerodynamics of the vehicle and those are the only changes that the vehicle has endured. The rear body work has also been modified and the MP4 28's center of gravity has been altered to enhance aerodynamic of the vehicle.

McLaren is using the MP4 28 this season and the vehicle is powered by a V8 engine developed by Mercedes. Some minor modifications have been made over last year's vehicle and the suspension and the nose of the vehicle has been altered to enhance aerodynamics. And the nose has been raised since last year by raising the center of gravity.

The Sauber C32 Ferrari is powered by the Type 056 V8 engine developed by Ferrari and this engine was first used in the vehicle in 2006. The engine has been used on successive vehicles without many modifications and the only change made to the body is that the noise has been lowered. Mercedes will be featuring the W04 for the 2013 season and the vehicle features a vanity panel along with an additional five wing panel to improve aerodynamics.

Marussia has its hopes pinned on to the MR02 and this vehicle features the advanced KERS system. Powered by the Cosworth's CA2013K engine, the car is quite powerful and features enhanced aerodynamics. Caterham will race with the CT03 Formula One car and the side pods on the vehicle have been changed in order to enhance performance. The vehicle sports the RS 27 engine from Renault and will feature the KERS technology for the 2013 season.
