Lincoln Looking to Make Huge Impact with its MKC
|   Saturday, November 16, 2013
Ford's premium car making subsidiary – Lincoln – has revealed an all new design of its latest SUV. The Lincoln MKC is based on a new design and equipped with latest technologies and should feature the latest lineup of Eco Boost engines. First images of this vehicle have been showcased as it is expected to be unveiled in American markets soon. Lincoln says that its MKC will be a new product in light weight SUV segments.

This is promising as it is one of the largest and fastest growing car segments across the globe.
Lincoln needs to fan out to various regions across the globe and appeal to younger generations in order to stay afloat in global markets. Lincoln previewed this car's design at the Detroit Motor Show in the form of an MKC Concept while production version of this vehicle is very close to its initially showcased design.

Standalone features of this vehicle include its spread out split wing grille along with its wraparound tail gauge, such as the one found in Audi's Q7. Although details regarding this vehicle are yet to be revealed we expect to find 2.0 liter and 2.3 liter diesel engines powering this vehicle. Average power displacement should be near 240 BHP while 275 BHP along with 300 ft lb of torque is also expected on high end versions.

Large capacity engines have active grille shutters although this was first used by Ford on its Escape SUV. Overall, this vehicle does feature similarities although they are subtle compared to major models from the past. Ford is offering front wheel drive as standard on the MKC although all wheel drive is available with adaptive damping. Special Edition variants are expected to be launched soon with additional modifications and specifications.

Lincoln is known to be suffering since quite a few years and they are hopeful of a successful turnaround within the next few years. They have worked on this machine to make it a successful model for small market segments although major markets are soon to get variants of this vehicle. Lincoln could also tread into China with this vehicle and they plan on doing so with help from mother concern Ford.

Past sales records have hinted at near 200% growth rate within the past few years and this is highest in class post the global economic meltdown. Prices are expected to start below $34,000 while engineers and designers made sure this turns out to be the best within range. Entry level luxury SUVs has a steady competition and this should add flair to its range.

Lincoln is expected to start production soon at its Louisville facility in Kentucky within the second quarter of 2014 while deliveries should begin by mid 2014. Pre bookings are soon to begin while proto types will be available for drive tests. We will keep updating you once we get our hands on one of these vehicles. However, considering Ford's stint with high end SUVs this is expected to be a decent ride for its price range.
