Lexus Unveiled at SEMA First Modified LC 500 in History!
|   Wednesday, November 16, 2016
The Lexus company has joined efforts with tuning workshops Gordon Ting and Beyond Marketing to build a nicer LC 500 coupe.
The car was introduced at the SEMA tuning festival may be designated as the first Lexus LC 500 which has been improved even if the production model has yet to came off the production line - work on this project started 12 months ago based on a prototype.

Therefore, at the Lexus stand from SEMA the first modified Lexus LC500 in history was revealed.
On this occasion, Lexus probably decided that the first modified LC 500 should be considered a milestone after which others will be guided when they will make their own changes to this model.
The changes may seem insignificant, but the aggressively aerodynamic exterior kit is inspired by the world of racing cars. The sport car received some very large side skirts along with a diffuser and splitter that stand outside the car a few centimeters.

The exterior was painted bright yellow and equipped with an aerodynamic kit, stylish mirrors and attachments for wings to accommodate huge 22-inch rims of HRE P101 shod in 255 / 35 ZR22 Pirelli P Zero Nero tires on the front axle and 305/30 ZR22 sized tiers on the rear axle, and hiding behind Brembo braking mechanisms.

The suspension was modified by installing a KW coilover and a system for adjusting the ground clearance, Hydraulic Lift System.
Even if you cannot better see what lies on the inside, Lexus has revealed that there have been installed two Sparco clamshell seats made of carbon fiber and a protective cage from Evasive Motorsports.

However, the most impressive are the changes to the engine. The standard V8 engine with a displacement of 5.0 liters, was disassembled and the cylinder diameter has been increased from 94 mm to 99.5 mm, receiving new pistons and connecting rods and a balanced crankshaft too. Thus, the displacement has increased from 5.0 l to 5.6 liters and power increased to 532 hp from 477 hp!

According to officials from Lexus the changes brought to the powertrain provide the engine the possibility to deliver 950 hp and over (perhaps with a turbo aspiration system)!

“The LC 500 looks beautiful and has a fantastic foundation of performance and driving characteristics,”declared Gordon Ting, Beyond Marketing. “I wanted to use that groundwork to develop a high-performance, aggressive-looking LC 500 that is tough yet luxurious, and has serious chops thanks to the custom engine.”

In other news, Lexus is also putting on display a widebody GS F and an RC F. They were both designed by Clark Ishihara and both designs were upgraded for wider appearance by giving the models a more aggressive feel on the road. In terms of performance, both have a cold air intake system, full header back exhaust system plus a custom suspension.

Finally, the 2015 Lexus RC F GT3 race car will also be on display as it was used during the 2016 race season to gather data and track experience, thus boasting Lexus' race program. This year, two 2017 cars will take part in the 2017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series.
