Lexus Plans on Rolling Out the LS 300h and LF LC at the Geneva Motor Show

Lexus has announced that it will be showcasing the IS 300h at the Geneva Motor Show this year. The vehicle is based on a hybrid drive train whose first images were showcased at the Detroit Motor Show this month. The most notable feature about this vehicle is its petrol electric hybrid drive train that has been designed extensively in the UK. The vehicle should be available in the UK this summer although the launch date has not been specified.

Lexus has enhanced the overall drive ergonomics of the IS 300h by adding an F Sport Package which enhances the overall performance of the vehicle.
The 300h prototype has already been launched and this is the model which is expected to be showcased later next month.

The 300h will be powered by a 2.5 liter four cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor and the hybrid system will be lifted directly off the Toyota Crown. General torque production is in the range between 163 ft lb while power generation is fixed at 175 BHP. On a combined note, the new hybrid system is expected to displace 217 BHP while Lexus gains fuel efficiency figures exceeding 65 MPG. The 300h features read wheel drive along with a CVT.

The suspension used up front is a double wish bone and has been lifted off its predecessor. Minor modifications have been conducted to blend the suspension with the new drive train while the multi link suspension used on the rear has been lifted off the Lexus GS. The Drive Mode Selection Software has also been borrowed from the GS while the most dynamic drive mode is considered to be the F Sport.

The IS 300h features a new bumper and grille design and this distinguishes the IS from the 300h. The steering and suspension column has been retuned and Lexus has added an optional Adaptive Variable Suspension Control. This assists the driver in selecting the best drive mode keeping in mind the surface conditions. The dimension of the 300h has been increased and the vehicle is taller, wider and longer than the IS.

Lexus claims that the total boot size of the car has been increased to 480 liters and this gives the passengers more space to ride. While leg, head and shoulder space have been increased, the boot space has been decreased by 30 liters. Lexus has designed the cabin space of this vehicle to resemble the LF CC Concept and the center console, dash board and panels have been borrowed from this vehicle.

Lexus will also be showcasing the LF LC sports car at the Geneva Motor Show and this is another important revelation from the company. Lexus says that the customers are in for a visual treat and Lexus followers are finding it difficult to wait for the required time period before revelation. While the exterior of this vehicle is sports based, the cabin has also been designed to provide a sports feel and the general aesthetics of the vehicle of the vehicle are soothing.
