Latest Addition to the Jaguar Lineup Expected Within 2016
|   Saturday, August 03, 2013
The latest vehicle to make its way to the Jaguar lineup is just a year and a half away from production. The car which was recently spotted is Germany still has a lot of body work to be done and was spotted with a huge external frame. Considering the specifications and the hype around the baby Jaguar, this could turn into a very prominent and important vehicle in the lineup.
According to insiders, Jaguar Land Rover plan on introducing the baby Jaguar – expected to be christened as the Q type – to their lineup by the middle of 2015 and could be manufactured at the Solihull plant along with newer creations from Land Rover.
The body shop has been installed exclusively to manufacture the new range of vehicles such as the Range Rover Sport.

The new line of aluminum cars, such as the Q Type, is directly at par with the BMW 3 Series and is designed exclusively on the PLA platform. The car is expected to have shorter overhangs, compacted engine set behind the front rims and a low bonnet. The primary aim of this vehicle is agility and efficient handling. Exterior wise, the vehicle seems to have been inspired by the Jaguar XJ and the XF and the head lamps give away its identity quite early.

However, on closer examination it is found that the car has its own set of designing ideas and the XJ nose look fake on the model. This could be replaced on the production model of the car although a short overhang is definitely welcome. The tail of the test mule is also shorter than that of the current generation XF.

The vehicle draws power from a four cylindered engine designed by Land Rover which is also known as the i54 at times. It is clearing up that Jaguar Land Rover has designed this vehicle exclusively to take on the BMW 3 Series. Sporting an efficient 50: 50 forward reverse weigh bias, the Jaguar is efficient and handles well. The alignment has been altered as compared to the other vehicles in its segment and this should change the way this vehicle behaves.

Jaguar claims that the first generation vehicle will be profitable not just from the economic point of view and this is bound to break Jaguar's image as a vehicle fit for heading to country clubs. Jaguar has a rich cultural history when it comes to building cars and the company will surely look forward to maintaining this in future.

This is Jaguar's biggest battle yet although the company is known to have fought efficiently in the past as well. The BMW 3 Series has a respected customer lineup and is a trusted name in the market. The Jaguar Q Series is new and rides solely on Jaguar's brand name. This should be an epic battle and both sides are putting on last minute changes to be better prepared for the oncoming onslaught. The battle is expected to begin by the middle of 2016.
