Land Rover Upgrades the 2014 Range Rover Evoque
|   Saturday, August 24, 2013
The Range Rover Evoque has been face lifted by a minor margin in order to keep sales intact for 2014 as well. Land Rover has sold more than 170,000 units of the Evoque since the past 18 months and the company wants to improve on the figures in this fiscal year. However, minor mechanical changes have been made as well, primary amongst which is the new nine speed automatic transmission system.

This is a prototype and was just recently tested before being installed as standard on the next generation Evoque.
This is bound to keep the system fresh while inducing new standards to performance. Even though the Range Rover Evoque is designed for style and comfort, the 2014 model will be the best in class till date. Exterior and interior enhancements have also been made along with the introduction of driver aids.

The nine speed transmission is one of the most advanced pieces of equipment yet and is like to be the most fuel efficient in the lineup too. The Adaptive Shift Program is the quickest in class and is quite refined and highly modernized. It enhances the drive dynamics of the ride and will be seen for the first time on the 2014 Range Rover Evoque.

The new transmission is expected to increase the fuel efficiency while the vehicle is driven in all wheel drive while the advanced Active Driveline makes sure that the car is quite stable up to 22 MPH. The car can rotate within all and rear wheel drive and hence the drive dynamics can be changed accordingly. Active Tour Biasing is also present on the ride and this controls the electronic drive differentials.

The current generation four cylindered 2.0 liter turbo charged engine displaces 240 BHP is set to be carried forward to the 2014 version also this is yet to be confirmed. Land Rover has also not officially confirmed a launch date although a reveal by the end of the year is most likely. Parking cameras, automated parking, interior trim options, all alloyed rims and a special Land Rover styled badge are available with the car.

Land Rover has also modified the rear section of the Evoque and this as a result gives the vehicle a newer feel. The only problem with the Evoque, as with so many other urban SUVs today, is its size. This car is practically huge and although this means that the car packs in huge cabin space. However, the major problem is maneuvering space within the city and this is the only area where the Evoque could face some serious trouble.

Apart from the mechanical changes, the Evoque also features a slew of interior and exterior paint tone changes. Although these do not do much in enhancing the performance of the vehicle, they surely give the car a newer feel and aesthetic appeal. New trim options are also available while four new alloyed rim designs are available as well. The 2014 Range Rover Evoque has all the traits of being a successful urban SUV in it.
