Iconic car maker Land Rover has unveiled the new Land Rover Defender XTech Special Edition and the car has undergone minor cosmetic changes to enhance its aggressive look. The car comes with the assurance of Land Rover and is available in two special edition paint schemes – Nara Bronze and Orkney Grey.

The overall paint scheme is Santorin Black and the roof top, front grille, the checker plate and the wheel arches are all in black. The color scheme highlights the external features of the XTech and lends the car a meaner look.

The head lamp of the car is highlighted by the use of black and the rear light has the special defender logo etched above it. The body color grille highlights the front end of the XTech as well as the black Land Rover logo on the bonnet.

The presence of a rear step bumper assists entry, exit and loading of the vehicle. The 16 inch alloy rim lends the car off roads look as well as provide substantial grip on asphalt and dirt track alike.

The interior is done up keeping the body color in mind and the ebony leather seats separate the interior paint scheme from that of the exterior. The color scheme compliments both the Nara Bronze and the Orkney Grey color scheme.

The carpet and the seat covers have the defender logo embroidered on it and the panels on the interior have the same color scheme as that of the exterior to harmonize the paint scheme of the car. The XTech is endowed with high quality electronics and the car being a Land Rover is high in safety features.

Some of the standard equipments installed in the Land Rover Defender XTech Special Edition are Anti Lock Braking system, advanced air conditioner with pollen filter, electronic traction control, heated seats and wind shield and central locking with remote facility.

Customers are also provided with an optional 90 hard top and 110 utility wagons and the range of accessories enhance the feel of the defender.
The defender XTech Special Edition is powered by a 2.2 liter diesel engine producing 122 HP @ 4,850 Rpm and 360 Nm of torque. The car also features a six speed manual transmission and power is transferred to the engine at the optimum moment.

The iconic all wheel drive technology made famous by land Rover, is also used in the defender and the suspension holds its ground in all terrains. The defender feels smooth on asphalt and runs equally well on off road tracks. The suspension is quite hard and this makes it easy to maneuver on a track.

The previous model of the defender was highly successful in the market and Land Rover hopes to outdo it in terms of sales figures. The XTech Special Edition is up for sale from July end and market analysts are hopeful of a turnabout in sales.

The initial response to the car has been great and Land Rover enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the defender to be up for sale.
