Land Rover comes up with interesting changes for the new releases
|   Saturday, April 06, 2013
Land Rover is an automobile manufacturing brand that is known for the changes and modifications it makes to the already existing concepts to produce something completely new and exciting. There have been a number of new releases from Land Rover. The new Range Rover and the new Range Rover sport are two different new releases from the company. There haves been many modifications in both these models comparing them to the earlier releases from Land Rover.

The modifications include better styling with new attributes added to the looks, downsized engines with low capacity and better platforms with better technologies. The least noted change, however, is the streamlining dome in the architecture and design of the car, a fact that influences the performance of the car in a major way.

The earlier releases from Land Rover have been using one of the four varieties of platforms that were in use by the company. The four varieties include a EUCD platform that has been derived from Ford. This platform has been used in Land Rover LR2 and the Evoque. The second variety is a standalone platform which was used in the Defender along time back.

The third variety is a body on frame platform this platform has been used in the LR4 and Range Rover Sport (earlier version). The fourth variety is a standalone platform. This platform has been derived from the BMW X5 which has been used in the third generation Range Rover. The new Range Rover brings a new variety of platform on to the market, a lightweight D7 which is to be used in all the following releases form Land Rover.

This is not the only modification from Land Rover. There have been modifications to the architecture of the car also. A longer wheel base is going to be offered in the new releases from land Rover. This change, however, has not been included in the third gen Range Rover and the new Range Rover Sport. The longer wheel base is going to be released perhaps in the year 2014.

Changes in terms of the engines used in the car can also be expected in the near future. A diesel based hybrid engine is going to be offered for the Range Rover. The six cylinder V6 engine with a capacity of 3 litres is going to be used in this variety. This engine variety will not be available in the United States. The fuel efficiency of this variety of engine is going to be better than the petrol based hybrid engines.

The D7 platform is going to see two new releases in the recent future, the LR4 and the updated Defender. Although the LR4 is a sure release, word are still going on about the Defender. The original Defender can be dated as far back as 1948. The real question here for the authorities is that whether it is worth the time, money and involvement to keep on updating the Defender. The aluminium architecture is going to be the future of Land Rover.
