Lamborghini Huracan Performante: The Fastest Road Car Ever
|   Wednesday, February 08, 2017
With so many surprises coming up, how can we not wait for the 2017 Geneva Motor Show? This year, one of the most interesting parts of the event comes from Lamborghini. The Italian brand promised to reveal this year what they claim is the fastest road car ever – and if a company like Lamborghini says it, we tend to believe it!

The vehicle is named Huracan Performante, probably for a good reason. Apparently, the team of technicians created a truly revolutionary aerodynamic system that enables active aero without mobile wings.
It's fair to say that this car can fly, though.

The Performante can be seen as a spiritual successor of the Superleggera range of Lambo; the latter one became famous for being lighter, faster and overall much more potent. Moving on to other official declarations, the company representatives keep bragging about the setup of the vehicle which, apparently, is worldwide unique. If that wasn't enough to surprise you, the Australian members of Motoring have also found out that there's much more to this car than just a clever aerodynamic kit.

With a weight of (probably) 220 pounds (100 kilograms) lighter than the previous models, the Huracan actually surpassed the Maurizio Reggiani's dreams regarding the model. Considering the fact that Maurizio is the head of Research and Development of Lamborghini, this must mean something!

A couple of tests performed on the Nurburgring, one of the most demanding tracks in the world, showed that the Huracan is faster than the well-known Aventador Superveloce. The vehicle reached 6:59, which makes us curious about other technical details.

Unfortunately, the officials didn't make any other official statements regarding the speed of the car, but we're eager to find out in March at the Geneva Motor Show. However, we do know that the Huracan has more power than the existing models, which have a 5.2-liter V10 motor that stays naturally aspirated. There will be higher rev limits, other tweaks regarding the exhaust, camshafts and other components.

CEO of Lamborghini Stefano Domenicali proudly said that the Nurburgring is 'the church of rock and roll' for automakers and went on by explaining how important it is for a vehicle to be really fast there. This piece of information is by far enough to make us curious on what the Italian luxury brand has in store for the world this year.
