Lamborghini Could Launch a New Version of the Gallardo this Year
|   Saturday, March 09, 2013
Rumor has it that Lamborghini plans on discontinuing with the current model of the Gallardo this August to bring forth the next generation model of the new baby Lamborghini. The new vehicle may or may not be available before next summer but company officials were not ready to either confirm or disown the rumor. This puts analysts in a tricky situation as the Gallardo was a potent vehicle in the Lamborghini lineup.

The Gallardo has been in production since the past decade, featuring constant upgrade time and again which kept the vehicle in tune with the modern times.
However, if rumors are to be believed, Lamborghini plans on moving ahead of the Gallardo by launching a new vehicle in the same segment. Hence the Gallardo needs to take the axe. The new vehicle could however retain the Gallardo tag and will feature a modified exterior.

Lamborghini could modify the Gallardo with reference to the concept Sesto Elemento and the Aventador and the front and rear end will be the first places to begin the modification. The car is currently under wraps and insiders have been barred from talking about it to the media or public. Designers at Lamborghini have also planned new 19 inch wheels as standard on the vehicle.

This will definitely give the vehicle a poised stance in the market and like most vehicles from Lamborghini this is expected to resemble a raging bull as well. This could be the first vehicle to sport the latest design upgrades from Lamborghini in modern times and is hence a very important creation for the company. Visual themes have not been decided and the exterior and interior parts are being worked on at the moment.

The big rear grille will sport the Lamborghini brand name and the vehicle is expected to be powered by a massive V10. Although technical and mechanical details are yet to be officially confirmed, rumors of such a launch have already spread like wildfire within the automotive sector. The fairing of the new vehicle could be similar to its predecessor as Lamborghini will have to maintain the Gallardo references if they want to use the brand name on the vehicle.

However, vehicles from Lamborghini look, feel and perform great and there is no real reason to be excited about the way the vehicle could look. Lamborghini has a few patent design cuts that are used on most of its vehicles, including the Aventador and the Concept Sesto Elemento. The 5.2 liter V10 could also be carried forward from its predecessor, although Lamborghini has not confirmed if the engine will be used as it is or will feature minor modifications.

An expected price tag of £165,000 is expected on the vehicle and experts believe a top speed of 201 MPH will be achieved on this ride. The car could accelerate from 0 -60 MPH in 4 seconds flat and this is the real performance on road that could greet people. Lamborghini has disappointed on rare occasions and this simply does not look like such a situation.
