Kia Motors Along With DC Comics Working Together For Charity
|   Thursday, February 14, 2013
Kia Motors along with DC Comics teamed up to design eight, one-of-a-kind vehicles to send out signals to the mainstream walk of life and raise money for the poor children Africa in an attempt called We Can Be Heroes. Each of the vehicles has been designed in a unique way, representing a character from the DC comic books and based on a different Kia model. Two of these vehicles are currently showcased at the Detroit Auto Show.

The cars will be auctioned off at the end of the event and the total proceedings will be donated.
Each of the vehicles feature a custom artwork on the exterior coupled with interior modification. People who have seen the car find it amusing and children are excessively happy when they see a car based on their favorite Justice League character.

The themed vehicles showcased at the event are Kia Soul based on the Green Lantern and Kia Optima based on Batman. The Soul has a paint scheme of dapper green with a dual tone exterior paint scheme with green mirror chrome tinted windows. The vehicle has also been lowered to enhance the visual aesthetics and the wheelbase has also been increased to give Green Lantern a well groomed position.

The back doors of this Soul have been welded to close completely and this has been done to give the vehicle a streamlined design. The projector lamps up front are green and a customized Green Lantern logo is mounted up next to the fog lamps. The fascia is totally revamped and the vehicle does not resemble a Kia Soul from any direction. The use of green LED further enhances the feel of the vehicle.

A custom carved spot on the rear end of the vehicle house the battery network and the lantern logo has been etched with a panel clearly describing Green Lantern's oath in green LED. The interior also features a video player preloaded with the We Can Be Heroes theme song and the steering wheel and interior upholstery are featured in green. Each of the seats bear the lantern logo and intricate detailing include use of green for the dash board and switches.

The Kia Optima features a matte black theme with a lowered suspension setting with muscular ground kits. The brakes on the vehicle have been enhanced for extreme stopping potential and huge Batman logos have been etched on the performance exhaust and the center cap. A custom front grille designed like the Bat wing has been installed up front and this took more than 40 hours to design.

The general Bat theme has been covered by yellow LED running through the entire vehicle and the Bat logo has been etched on the head lamps which make the HID head lamps resemble the Batman logo. The interior features detailed use of black upholstery with yellow stitches. The other vehicles which constitute the eight car lineup include a Kia Forte inspired by Cyborg, Rio inspired by Aqua man, Forte Coupe inspired by Flash while the other vehicles are yet to be disclosed.
