Jaguar's Next Generation XE Up for Launch
|   Tuesday, March 18, 2014
Jaguar's upcoming XE is based on an all aluminum platform and is powered by a new engine lineup. This vehicle should compete with premium class machines after a formal launch next year. Jaguar has finally showcased its BMW 3 Series rival, after waiting for months to catch a glimpse of this vehicle. This vehicle will also be rivaling Mercedes Benz's C Class and was revealed officially at Geneva early this month.

Jaguar's XE will be introduced underneath their XF and will cater primarily to the mid region compact premium car lovers.
Jaguar is looking forward to competitive pricing strategies. Hence, we expect their XE to be priced at £29,000. Its efficient range of four cylindered engines is highly in demand, whereas performance enhancements are expected owing to advanced weight saving measures.

Jaguar Land Rover have been working on their latest iQ[AI] platform for quite some time now and this is an integral part of their car's core development. This structure holds high potential and should be used to design vehicles in the future too. It is highly flexible, which makes it suitable for use in various vehicles. We could see future SUVs being designed on this platform too.

The vehicle is based on an all aluminum chassis, based on aerospace technology that uses aerospace adhesives and rivets to join components. Carbon fiber could also be used in future specimens. Engineers at Jaguar are quite happy with their new range of 2.0 liter petrol engines, which are based on a flexible structure. The first batch of engines is currently in its pre production stage at Jaguar Land Rover's Midland Factory.

This high performance engine will allow the XE, top speeds near 186 MPH when properly calibrated. CO2 emissions less than 100 g/km are expected, while Limited Edition Performance models should be capable of displacing a maximum of 400 BHP. Forced induction is in place and is a primary reason for this engine's high torque displacement capability. This engine lineup can be coupled with all sorts of twin turbo chargers and super charger setups, for added performance.

Jaguar has upgraded the XE's front suspension system that makes it more maneuverable and comfortable. Its double wishbone suspension setup will also be used underneath their next generation XF, while considerable performance boost is now available. We expect better performance round corners, while stability should not be affected much. Exterior wise, this vehicle resembles a standard Jaguar in every form, although minor visual changes could be in place.

Jaguar is working on practical and affordable vehicles, although we must never forget the fact that they stand for visual excellence and designing as well. Even though interior specs are currently not known, we expect decent levels of fit, finish and finesse as Jaguar needs to save its reputation.

Engine refinement is of primary importance here and we are waiting impatiently to get behind the wheels of this vehicle. We have heard much about its performance capabilities and would surely love to personally witness some of it.
