Jaguar Working on a new XJ with Minor Exterior and Technical Upgrades
|   Sunday, November 10, 2013
Four years after unveiling the XJ Jaguar plans on a mild facelift for next year. The latest Jaguar XJ, spotted testing near Jaguar's Midland Base, looks very much like its current model. However, the front and rear end are visibly enhanced. Jaguar attempted to conceal front and rear bumpers of the vehicle although we were able to see basic aspects of what this vehicle would resemble.

A few of its design elements are quite obvious, such as its smaller front grille, which has been in place to give the vehicle balanced proportions.
A large rectangular air intake is also in place while corner designs are cleaner with the headlamps planning on being smaller or similar to its current model. An orange indicator unit is in place and this is included in the standard kit headed for America.

Changes to its rear end are less dramatic while restyling is at a minimal level. We expect this vehicle to draw power from a 2.0 liter four cylindered turbo charged petrol engine displacing 237 BHP, lifted off its current generation model. Jaguar Land Rover has announced the launch of its next generation Hotfire four cylindered engines although we do not expect this to arrive before 2015.

Jaguar could be planning a major remodel fall 2015 although this though is still far-fetched. Sales figures are on a rise as Jaguar sold a total of 14,776 units of the XJ within January and September 2013. With the launch of the new model, experts expect a 23 percent rise in sales. These are mere assumptions at the moment although current financial data depict these figures. The huge sales incorporate sales in China, which accounts for a major part of this jump.

We are waiting intently for this vehicle to arrive although we would like to get behind the wheels first. We expect minor handling modifications which could make the driving experience that much more fun. Jaguar is unwilling to announce details regarding this vehicle as of now and we will bring you details, news, reviews and drive test results as soon as Jaguar starts cooperating. Stay tuned for more.
