|   Friday, February 08, 2013
The jaguar has finally showcased the much talked about E Type however the acronym has been clanged and is now known as the F Type. The first F Type vehicle features a fabricated chassis and Jaguar has already designed and showcased the V6S Prototype. This vehicle is powered by a 3.0 liter engine displacing 375 BHP and 339 ft lbs of torque, mated to a seven speed ZF transmission system. The weight, power and transmission ratio are perfectly aligned and this makes the vehicle the perfect driver's tool.

The door section of the F Type has a considerable large amount of space and this makes getting in and out of the vehicle an easy task. The use of aluminum for most of the body work also makes the design studio as well as lends additional strength to the bodywork of the cars.

The vehicle features a large, centrally placed binnacle featuring dual vents and that provides extra heating / cooling when required. The driver's main instrument panel is quite clearly laid out and is easy to decipher it features most of the important gauges while preserving a neat and clean look. Sufficient lighting also makes it attractive at night and the digital dials are great to look at below the glare proof eyebrow on the vehicle.

The overall feel of the vehicle is posh and a sense of style, superiority and visual aesthetics is maintained every time the vehicle is spotted on the road. The driving position is quite low. However it does not make driving difficult. On the other hand, it instills confidence into the heart of the driver. The advanced aerodynamic design of the vehicle also keeps the nose planted in the ground at all situations and presence of abundant suspension and dampers make the general ride quality quite comfortable.

The cabin is quite cozy and provides a comfortable ride. The upholstery and general aesthetics of the vehicle is high and the standard of the materials used is above the normal Jaguar standards. Jaguar estimates the V6S Prototype is capable of reaching 0 – 60 MPH in less than 4.8 seconds while the vehicle features a top speed of 171 MPH.

Average fuel economy of 31 MPG is achieved along with 213 g/km CO2 emission. The V6S has more power than most vehicles from Jaguar at the moment. The engine could bring about a revolution in the ranks of Jaguar Land Rover. Final tests are being conducted and the production model is expected to be showcased by the end of the year.

Suspension setting on the vehicle has been redone and this enhances the ergonomics of the ride. The supercharged engine performs well under pressure and has an edge to it. Performance figures on the prototype are amazing and if this engine is installed on the production model, Jaguar could develop a very powerful production model in the new F Type. The chassis upgrade also gives the V6S the advanced stability needed to handle the power generated by the engine.
