Jaguar Presents Images of Brand's New Crossover F-Pace Prototype
|   Monday, August 10, 2015
The new Jaguar F-Pace SUV was tested in extreme conditions. From the high temperatures and dust of Dubai, to the ice and snow in northern Sweden, the limits of the new Jaguar F- Pace have been tested in some of the most inhospitable environments on the earth.

The Jaguar crossover promises an unrivaled combination of stunning performance, unique design, and practical character. To ensure that each system works perfectly, even in the most extreme conditions, the new F-Pace has undergone one of the toughest test programs designed by the company ever.

Jaguar F-Pace was sent away to the Land Rover test center in Arjeplog, in Sweden. In these places, the average winter temperature rarely exceeds -15 degrees C and often reaching - 40 degrees C.

Near the Arctic Circle, the 60 km route set for testing includes challenging mountain roads, narrow spaces cornering and off-road areas, ideal for optimal calibration for the all wheel drive system and Dynamic Stability Control.

There are also very good conditions for testing revolutionary Jaguar technologies, including All-Surface Progress Control. The tests performed here ensure that whatever the surface - asphalt, snow or ice - F- Pace provides a stable and agile driving experience, the fundamental characteristic of the brand's dynamic DNA.

In Dubai, the air temperature can exceed 50 ° C in the shade. When cars are left in direct sunlight, the temperature in the cockpit can reach 70 ° C. It is the ideal environment for Jaguar to ensure that everything is perfect - from the climate control system up to the infotainment system controls with touch screen - under extreme conditions of heat and humidity.

This part of the test is designed to test the cooling systems in difficult conditions, by a combination of high ambient temperatures, and low air flow, while the responsible engineers for testing can relax in the comfort of air conditioning while driving through city traffic.

Also, the F-Pace has been driving on cobbled mountain roads. It is the first time when a Jaguar test program included these difficult testing conditions.
Also, this attention to detail, It is one that will help Jaguar, to place the first performance crossover as the benchmark in its segment.

Jaguar F-Pace will have dimensions similar to the C-X17 concept, which involves a bodywork 4.72 meters long and 1.65 meters high. F-Pace is the first crossover in the 80 years history of Jaguar, and its name wants to make a connection between F-Type sports and the brand slogan used in the 50s and 60s: "Grace, Pace, Space".
The new crossover will be Jaguar's direct rival for the BMW X4 and Porsche Macan. In the future, Jaguar is preparing a range of SUVs and crossovers, among the possibilities being included a rival to the BMW X1.

In terms of motorization, the new F-Pace will appeal to the XE range, which translates into a complete Ingenium four-cylinder engine and turbo supercharged collection. Subsequently, the F-Pace can be ordered including a supercharged 3-liter V6 petrol engine which is found on the F-Type.
Presentation of the Jaguar F-Pace model will take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and be sold in 2016.
