Jaguar Looks Forward to Revealing Next Generation F Type Coupe this Month
|   Wednesday, November 20, 2013
Jaguar has just unveiled the latest teaser image of its latest F Type Coupe, which is expected to make a formal debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show by end November. If rumors are to be believed, Jaguar has almost completed work on this vehicle and it should be available across global markets by spring next year. Jaguar plans on making a different marketing strategy on this vehicle than its convertible cousin although basically they should sport similar properties.

A hard top model is sturdy and more balanced as compared to a convertible. Hence, necessary modifications have been made to both these vehicles. This as a result has made both vehicles similar and different all at the same time. The convertible is lighter and more flexible although it is not the best handler in class due to lack of rigidity.

Jaguar confirms that its mainstream F Type models are powered by a serious of V Class engines, namely the V6, V8 and V6S. These engine options are primarily available on its hard top variant while slightly modified units of these could also be used in the soft top variant. Jaguar has made a few specific modifications to both these vehicles, aimed at enhancing overall drive dynamics and feel, although they have not been revealed as of now and should be the star attraction at Los Angeles this month.

High end RS and RS GT variants are also expected soon and these should draw power from a post 550 BHP displacing engine. R, RS and GT brands are quite popular with Jaguar as these vehicles are not just quick, but are well engineered and balanced, which gives them an edge in class. Jaguar is planning on maintaining heritage and drive dynamics hence their vehicles have the upper hand in class.

Track focused and street legal speed coupes are also up for reveal although engineers are still working on last minute modifications. This as a result should keep these vehicles waiting for some time now. Jaguar is looking forward to an acceleration time within 4.0 seconds for 0 – 60 MPH and this figure is quite possible if the specifications mentioned prove true.

A Limited Edition XKR – S GT is likely soon as this is a practical build, although just 50 units are set for manufacture. Jaguar wants to come out big at Los Angeles this month and considering their current lineup, they should be quite successful too. Jaguar Land Rover in general has a few very interesting vehicles lined up and expansion plans are also on the cards.

Joint projects could be up soon and this should benefit both wings of JLR. Stability and precision of Jaguar's handling capability should gel well with power and off road capability of Land Rover. Although it is too early to comment on the scenario as of yet, we will keep you posted regularly. Check this column as exciting news, reviews, drive tests and updates from Los Angeles, will start trickling in within the next few weeks.
