Jaguar launches the XJ petrol edition
|   Sunday, October 21, 2012
Jaguar is planning to launch a new petrol power version of the XJ. The XJ diesel is the current best seller from the Jaguar stable and with the launch of the petrol version the vehicle is set to feature advanced options. This is part of a 2013 scheme to launch a few petrol variants of present diesel models and the XJ is set to be launched apart from the XF middle weight and heavy weight vehicles.

Jaguar has unveiled two separate petrol drive train platforms for the vehicles and these are a 2.
liter 237 BHP displacing turbo charged engine and a 3.0 Liter turbo charged V8. This engine is highly popular in the European countries and parts of America and will be available in those parts of the world. The other engine is set to be launched in parts like Asia, Africa etc.

The Jaguar XJ range has reached its mid life crisis and as a result a transformation was much needed. There have been a few significant changes in the vehicle like the navigation system, audio output device and a high end HI-FI system. The V8 displaces 335 BHP and is a 5.0 liter engine mated to a ZF transmission system. The six speed automated transmission does its best to enhance performance as well as increase fuel efficiency.

The XJ was first introduced in 2009 and after 1 three year time period the vehicle is being transformed. Aesthetic appeal of this vehicle is beyond question and the interior has a host of luxury options like climate control, under seat air conditioner ducts, advanced suspension system and a host of connectivity measures like USB, Bluetooth and WI-FI. The materials used on the vehicle are truly Jaguar style and like all other Jaguars, this vehicle features a sense of class and raw performance combined under a single skin.

The XJ petrol is a great car to own and use for travelling daily. With a maximum speed of 155 MPH, the vehicle is quite fast for a sedan and it reaches 60 MPH from 0 MPH in less than 6 seconds. With a maximum power output of 335 BHP @ 6500 RPM and torque production of 332 ft lb @ 3500 – 5000 RPM, the XJ petrol is a funky car to own and drive.

The advanced eight speed automated transmission system sparks up the feel of driving and the super charged petrol engine powers the vehicle to the optimum levels. The XJ petrol returns fuel at 30 MPG and engine refinement is the best as in any other Jaguar.

Power delivery is however not as smooth as it could have been and the vehicle feels bumpy at times. This vehicle has a lot of potential in the market and the initial response has been great. Market analysts are hopeful of this vehicle making its mark and Jaguar is hoping for the best for the time being.

The vehicle is expected to launch sometimes next month and till then representatives from Jaguar are unwilling to comment on the situation.
