Jaguar Land Rover Ready to Launch the Next Generation Range Rover Evoque
|   Tuesday, March 12, 2013
Jaguar Land Rover has installed a nine speed automatic transmission system on the next model of the Range Rover Evoque. This ZF transmission system replaces the current six speed transmission system and is expected to be present on all models post 2014. However, the current model cannot be replaced with this transmission system. Bookings for the next generation Evoque will start from June and the first batch of vehicles are expected to be delivered by September.

This transmission system is known as the ZF 9HP and land Rover is the official partner of this design. This is the first among a range of transverse transmission systems on the new engines and will be mated to the next generation engines. The gear ratio has been enhanced and this could mean better performance through all gears.

Performance is definitely on the rise and this is great news for the performance lovers. Drivability is bound to be improved while Jaguar Land Rover claims that the performance and handling of the vehicle is better than before. Overall driving experience is lazier than before and this makes the Range Rover Evoque easier to control. The off road capability of this vehicle has been enhanced and this will definitely attract the travelers.

Jaguar Land Rover says that the overall fuel efficiency and CO2 emission has been improved. However, this claim needs to be tested. However, the transmission system will definitely channel 10 percent more energy into the Evoque and that is genuinely important for people vying to purchase this car. Overall fuel efficiency should improve to 48 MPG from 43.5 MPG on the diesel model while the petrol variant is expected to enhance fuel efficiency to 36 MPG from 32.5 MPG.

The new box transmission system is not very large compared to its predecessor and the conventional clutch guarantees more performance. Jaguar Land Rover has however not confirmed pricing on the vehicle. Adjustments are likely to be done to the model before it is launched in 2014. It packs in more torque than the six speed transmission system and is smoother than its predecessor.
The vehicle sports a lot of electronic assistance measures which ensure that the driver's task is cut out.

The small gaps within the gear ratios mean that the vehicle races to push off. When the pedal is floored, the vehicle races on over tarmac. Off road performance is expected to be just as good. The suspension enhancement plays a major role in the vehicle's successful stint both on and off road. This vehicle is quite efficient at cruising and performs smoothly on open roads.
43 MPH @ 1000 RPM is quite efficient and the upmost gears are best suited to both high and low RPM driving. As far as the general ergonomics is concerned, the Range Rover Sport makes for a decent ride. It makes most sense in its segment and should be purchased if people are looking for an ardent performer both on and off road. Jaguar Land Rover is however expected to announce the price next week.
