Introducing The Mercedes-Benz CLA And CLS Shooting Brake Facelift
|   Monday, April 04, 2016
The German winning team Mercedes CLA and CLS Shooting Brake just received a subtle facelift. Mercedes has presented the restyled versions of the CLA and CLA Shooting Brake models for the Auto Show in New York.

Mercedes does not bring substantial changes to the CLA range, going with a subtle facelift which relaunches the compact sedan-coupe. There are new interior elements and the technological systems and motorization also receive an update.

After the Class A went through a beauty session last year, "hidden" under a subtle facelift that you could not see unless you were either very attentive or ardent fan of the German mark, the platform brother CLA and CLA Shooting Brake version (SB) are also included in the German designers plan.
Thus, they have a slightly refreshed exterior and some touches of novelty on the inside were added.

Now, the car gets a redesigned front spoiler which can be accentuated with silver, black or chrome adjustments. The rear bumper is also changed, contributing to the improved overall appearance of the car. The ornamental panels of the exhaust pipe are integrated in the bumpers, and the wheels have 5 spokes, which make us think of the AMG line, which we all know and love.

The exterior paint includes the new Canvas Blue Metallic, which together with the alloy wheels are helping the 2016 model year be different from that of last year. The look on the car is now more even and attracts even the most demanding customers.

Designed for hardcore drivers, the top of the range model, CLA45, has black decorations on the ventilation holes, and a rear spoiler with aerodynamic shape mounted on the trunk.

Among the interior novelties, we have a new range of upholstery, red needles for board clocks, and an 8-inch tablet display (available as an option), which changes shape and is thinner than before. Incidentally, this display becomes the command center for integration of Apple, CarPlay or Android Auto, through which mobile phones are "assimilated" by the multimedia system of the car.

In terms of motorization, Mercedes announced some interesting new versions. The CLA 180D BlueEFFICIENCY comes with a 1.5 liter engine from Renault rated at 109 hp, which exclusively offers manual transmission and a mixed fuel consumption index of 3.5 liters / 100 km for the CLA, respectively, 3.6 liters / 100 km for CLA SB.

The petrol engine fans are also not forgotten. The CLA 220 4MATIC variant offers all-wheel drive with the 2.0 liter engine and 184 hp, while in the CLA SH range we have for the first time the CLA 180 BlueEFFICIENCY, which uses a 1.6 Turbo engine, rated at 122 hp, also borrowed and adapted from Renault-Nissan partners. In this version, Mercedes announced average fuel consumption at 5.5 liters / 100 km.

The CLA 45 AMG performance version will still offer peak performance. With 381 horsepower (at 6000 rpm) and 475 Nm of torque (between2250 rpm - 5000 rpm), this version manages an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in the 4.2 seconds (4.3 for the CLA SB) and average consumption of 6.9 liters / 100 km.

After the official presentation at the Auto Show in New York, the Mercedes CLA facelift will have to wait until July to debut in showrooms.
