Infiniti FX37 is a Viable Contender for the Mid Range SUV
|   Sunday, June 09, 2013
The Infiniti FX37 is a car which looks and feels great and is a complete package that buyers can hope to purchase. The 2013 FX37 takes the appeal a step higher not just because of its lofty design, but also on account of its performance and efficiency figures. The vehicle has been built at par with a Cadillac Escalade and hence it is quite strong in its own right.

The chassis is stable and strong while the body is torsion rigid as compared to the last generation FX37.
This makes this a very potent off roader at least in terms of strength. Infiniti shares the concerns of the experts as well and hence the suspension on the FX37 has been lowered. This gives the vehicle a suitable stability which is desired on most SUVs.

Infiniti has designed this car like a tank and although safety and comfort measures are also in place. The quality of the parts is standard and this is not surprising since this is not a premium segment SUV. The power train however needs credit as it is quite responsive and unlike the other passive drive train measures, the seven speed transmission on this machine makes it highly efficient and fun to drive.

The ride is balanced, aggressive, agile and smooth and the interior complements the general exterior features quite well. The center console is the most potent infotainment feature of the ride and controls the sole of the vehicle. The dashboard is well organized and simple even though it features most of the controls of the vehicle. The Infiniti FX37 however is a great ride considering the price segment and if you are looking for a cheap yet efficient SUV the FX37 should be the perfect vehicle.

Even though this segment consists of high end and more powerful vehicles such as the Mercedes Benz ML Class, Cadillac SRX and the BMW X5, the FX37 manages to hold its edge and this is all that matters. Considering the high impact of station wagons and crossover vehicles, SUV sales have taken a hit although the premium segment players continue to dominate their market segment.

A V6 is the most popular engine choice on the FX37 although Infiniti is also offering a 5.0 liter V8 engine for the enthusiasts. If you are into off road activities, the V8 should do justice to the journey. Performance wise the FX37 is a better choice than its predecessor and this vehicle packs in more space as well as returns better mileage than its predecessor, although if mileage is your main concern, the V6 should do justice.

Priced at $46,700, the Infiniti FX37 is not cheap although it is not quite expensive considering the market segment and the features being offered. However, this is the best deal considering the price and if given a choice, the FX37 would make an overall better choice than the Mercedes Benz or BMW within the specified range. Quality wise although, the Infiniti needs to make amends.
