Hyundai instructed to replace faulty break light switches
|   Saturday, December 22, 2012
There are many issues regarding the cars hitting the market. In a race of getting the maximum number of cars out in the market, some of the car manufacturers are not paying attention to the details. There are many cars in the market that are running with some manufacturing defect. For these manufacturing defects the user has to pay the fine. One name in this list is Hyundai. The Hyundai is accused of sending out thousands of units out in the market with faulty brake light switches.
This issue has attracted the attention of many including the Federal authorities who are now going to look into the matter themselves.

Due to the manufacturing defect by Hyundai, many drivers around the world are paying heavy fines. The amount of fine can be from a hundred to a few hundred dollars. This amount of fine has to be paid for no mistake of the driver. This is having an adverse effect on the image of the company and has already started to reflect on the sales. Moreover, Hyundai has refused to recall the thousands of faulty brake light switches that it has released in the market. This has sent the customers into a frenzy of anger and disappointment.

The faulty break light switches date back to models released as far back as the August of 2011. This is another matter of concern as Hyundai has not yet reacted properly on this matter even after a full year has passed from the first incident. There have been a few other problems with the car models also. And these problems do not limit themselves to a particular model. The problems prevail in all the models sold in this one year span from August last year till June of this year.

In June of this year a very confidential bulletin was received by the dealers. There has a total sell of about seventy thousand vehicles in this one year span. Out of those many are suspected to be affected with the faults. Still only those who spotted the problems got their car fixed. An official statement released by the company claims that only 4 cars have been affected with these faults. However, the estimation gives out a much larger number. Depending on the statistics, some manufacturing defect or the other is present in majority of the models.

The company says that it is going to cooperate with the Government in all ways possible during this investigation. They say that they will participate in any way possible in the enquiries. However, some uncertainty remains about the position of the company on the matter. An amount of transparency is lacking from the statements. There is a mismatch between work and action. According to the steps taken already, all the faulty brake light switches that come in for replacing should be replaced for free. There is no rule on what to do with the faulty light switches that are not noticed by the users. The company is under pressure to respond to the orders.
