Hyundai Has Grand Plans for the Grand Santa Fe
|   Thursday, February 28, 2013
Hyundai has grand plans to launch the Grand Santa Fe at the Geneva Motor Show next month. The Grand Santa Fe was first showcased by Hyundai back in 2012 at the New York Motor Show and the vehicle is basically the largest twin of the Santa Fe. The cabin can easily accommodate seven - eight people and Hyundai have tweaked the vehicle especially for the American and Chinese customers and will not be available in the UK.

Featuring a left hand drive train only, Hyundai plans on offering the vehicle with right hand drive once the vehicle is launched.
The Grand Santa Fe will be a worthwhile addition to Hyundai's European lineup and will be available along with the Santa Fe. The Grand Santa Fe is in general a larger, taller and spacious version of the Santa Fe.

Cabin space is quite high and the Santa Fe boasts of a huge boot space owing to its increased dimensions. The differences however go beyond general dimensions and a redesigned grille, front and rear bumper, restyled quarter and fog lamps along with the head lamps feature the general exterior changes. Hyundai is also offering 18 and 19 inches alloyed rims on the Grand Santa Fe.

Also enhancing the exterior look of the vehicle is the full length panoramic sun roof excluding the center beams and well as a 4.3 inch touch screen and a three mode adjustable steering column. The cabin features elegant design works and the Grand Santa Fe is a luxury SUV from all directions. Hyundai has designed this vehicle to take on the top contenders of the luxury SUV segment and they seem to hold a commendable position with this vehicle.

Hyundai has also worked especially on the drive ergonomics of the vehicle and handling the Grand Santa Fe is expected to be similar to that of the Santa Fe. The steering column has been worked on exclusively while the suspension has been working on heavily. The European buyers are however set to receive the left hand driven version of the vehicle till the right hand drive option is available.

This could prove to be a serious downside of the vehicle. However, as far as the Chinese market is considered, the Grand Santa Fe is more than the people would have bargained for. The huge turning radius could however turn into a nightmare within traffic and this is best not used in the crowded cities across the world. Space crunch will hurt and parking could be troublesome within the city.

However, Hyundai has installed a list of ultra modern technologies to help customers with their vehicle. Starting from Electronic Stability Control, Automatic Lane Change Warning, Automatic Parking Assistance and Electronic Steering Assistance to Rear View parking Cameras, the Grand Santa Fe has it all. Therefore, the work of the driver could be reduced in certain cases. Without performing a road test, top speed, acceleration, fuel efficiency and CO2 emission figures cannot be established. However, the company tested figures are set to be revealed next month, along with the car.
