How the new BMW i8 gives the best performance for wheels powered by charged batteries

BMW has been focusing on developing there electric drive front. Starting with their i3 model which was a huge success, BMW now comes with a new level of electric vehicle. They have the i8 with an amazing engine performance. This car will have all the necessary features that an Electric car can provide. Though the top speed of 75 mph is no that attractive to hear, but for a vehicle that runs with absolute zero emission, such a top speed is a true game changer.

BMW has already witnessed a waiting list that will take a year to clear until all these anticipations are answered. The no pollution car has a fan list that will surpass any other E-vehicle's demand list. The German automakers have worked a long time on designing the car's tech features. The best thing about this car is that it has got different driving modes. They have got a tight competition with the Audi R8 and need to put some extra touch to the performance schemes of this new car.

When you are driving it in Electric Drive mode, the speed is a limited 75 mph but still the no emission is a worth support. There the range of this car is set at 22 miles only but when we consider the range of this reanimated plugin hybrid, its range is a whopping 375 miles when petrol is burnt. The body design of this BMW is just mind blowing. Its design is more an adaptive of some science fiction theme. Well, you can charge its battery very quickly and you can fill 80% of its battery in less than a couple of hours.

If you choose the i8 Sports mode, the performance hikes to a new level. The engine output of this super car becomes a new definition in this mode, flaunting a power of 357 bhp. When you are driving this comfy car, you can feel it glide over the road, especially at turnings can be smooth at times with an excellent power steering feature.

You always have the option of a hybrid coupe model which has a turbo petrol engine of a moderate capacity of 1.5 litres. It has a front wheel drive feature, good for a car of this category and still you can find it a drift master but never go rough on it's engines. Though this petrol engine is a better power supplier than the electric powered model, its emission of 42g per km is only challenge. But BMW has managed to reduce the emission considerably.

The price tag of this fast machine is nearly a hundred thousand pounds and goes higher. Its price is no doubt worth the performance its engine promises. Its torque is set at 420 lb per feet, which blesses it with smooth turnings and reduces pressure on wheel axil. Though its top speed is quite low for a sports model, 155 mph is enough when you are catching eyes on city streets. It has a decent pick up of 0 to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds.
