Honda unveils the all new limited edition Jazz Si
|   Friday, October 19, 2012
Honda's all new creation, the Jazz Si is here and this vehicle is unparallel in many aspects. The vehicle is a technological genius with an increased interior boot space along with stylish exterior and overall the vehicle is a masterpiece. However, with the launch of the new limited edition Honda Jazz Si, the company has set new benchmarks for the midsized car segment.

New side skirts, front and rear bumpers along with a new grille and a new leather coated interior.
The steering wheel along with the seats has a new leather coat and this uplifts the total image of the interior. With section 55 tires and new 16 inch diamond cut sports rim, the vehicle has an overall uplifted look and feel and the reimbursed exterior features the Si logo implanted on it. This was missing in the base model of the Jazz and with the new suspension overhaul; the increase in the ride height gives a sportier appeal to the Jazz Si.

Body control and handling has been enhanced due to the drive train and exterior modifications and the Jazz Si does not suffer from under steer that its predecessor suffered from. The 1.3 liter engine powering the Jazz Si displaces 98 BHP however it is not a sporty engine and as a result the vehicle lacks the usual torque that is needed to feel the urge while driving.

94 ft lb of torque appears at 4800 RPM and the maximum torque displacement occurs within the mid segment. This is useful for urban driving and the Jazz Si is perfectly suited for the job. The vehicle does not perform well when pushed to the limits and as a result cruising along the freeways is a thing of concern. However, only 1000 units of the Jazz Si will be manufactured by Honda and this is set to buff up the sales volumes.

The initial response has been great and most people are looking forward to book the Honda Jazz Si in advance. Honda needs to work on the drive train of future vehicles to make for a thrilling ride. The jazz Si features a top speed of 113 MPH with 0 – 60 MPH coming in close to 11.9 seconds. This is not blazingly fast but is decent considering the fact that this is a vehicle strictly for urban usage.

The 1339 CC displacing 4 cylindered petrol engine features a combined fuel efficiency of 50.4 MPG and the five speed manual transmission system is perfect on this vehicle. An automated version is however available and this further reduces the performance of the vehicle. The Jazz Si makes for a decent buy only if you are willing to use it for travelling short distances daily. Freeway cruising is a difficult activity with this vehicle and it feels powerless on open roads. Advance bookings are set to be open fall November and the vehicle is expected to do quite well considering its limited edition stamp. The final reviews are however awaited post launch.
