Honda CR-Z the car inspired by futuristic ideas
|   Saturday, December 22, 2012
The Honda CR-Z is not a new release from Honda. It is, however, to have a renovation of its own before it is going to be re-launched. The car has never dominated the market in terms of sales, but the whole aim of this renovation is to increase the sales of the car.

The car packs a powerful engine that has a 1.5 litres capacity. The petrol engine can produce 119bhp, which can be further boosted up to 135bhp in a hybrid version that comes with the lithium ion battery.

The car has good pickup, with the pickup time being 9.1 seconds for 0 to 62 miles per hour on the Sports model. The pickup is a little less impressive on the GT version with the time being 9.5 seconds for 0 to 62 miles per hour.
The car is quite fuel efficient, going 56.5 miles per gallon and emits 116 gm of CO2 per kilometre. The GT ranks a little lower with fuel efficiency of 54.3 miles per gallon and emits 122 gm of CO2 per kilometer.

There have been very subtle changes in the looks of the car, nothing major. The front bumper and grille has seen some restyling, while the alloy wheel designs and also the colours have some variety.

The driving experience of the car has not changed much. It is quite similar to the pre-facelift version. The powerful engine added to the car does not change much from the perspective of performance.

Three driving modes are available on the car, which are Sport, Econ and Normal. The different modes let you change the steering ease, the climate control features and the throttle responses. The engines start and stop system can also be altered depending on the mode.

The subtle changes to steering ease and other minor changes on the controls of the car have affected the performance. The car is not as dependable as before. There is also no added security features to counter balance this lack in dependency. The car has lost its credibility in this matter.

The interiors of the car also remain shockingly similar to the previous models. The cockpit has been constructed with a futuristic view. The controls of the car are easily accessible and the display on the dials is bright and clear.

The designing part is very similar with the seating space being limited. The space on the back seats is too less for comfort of any full grown person. Not many seat adjustments are also available. So the options offered are very limited in all the senses. However, the storage space for luggage has increased bit, making space for some additional bags and baggage.

The ultimate question is that whether you will opt for buying the car. Keeping in mind all the features and specifications there is a possibility that many will go for buying the car. However, the car costs about 1455 pounds more than the previous model. Still the model remains cheaper than many other similar models, so the final decision lies with you.
