Honda is one of the worlds most recognized and quality automobile manufacturers. And it is famous for Honda that once your drive this car you don't want to drive any other. The company has several lines of automobiles for its vendees. Honda Airwave is one of combination cars joining the designs of sedan Honda City and hatchback Honda Fit. The front side is taken from Honda City and the back side is taken from Honda Fit making it a 5 door station wagon.
In 2005 the company started this production line that went on till 2011, and then again in 2012 the production begun.

The Airwave has two separate trim lines; the basic one given the name G model and the fully-furnished one named L model. Both these models come with the option of a huge panoramic sunroof that embraces the whole roof of the car and both the models are available in either the four wheel drive or front wheel drive. The Airwave gives the gas mileage of 42 miles per gallon on the average. The car is not known for its acceleration as it serves the purpose of a family car or a cargo loader. However, the top speed goes up to 112 miles per hour which is pretty good for a hatchback car.

Now let us have look under the hood of Honda Airwave. The car is 1496 cc and is powered by 1.5 Liter VTEC 4-cylinder engine. The engine can produce 109 horsepower at 5800 revolutions per minute and a torque of 105 pounds per feet at 4800 revolutions per minute. Both the models are enabled with CVT which means continuously variable automatic transmission. The G model corroborates the standard CVT whereas the L model has the CVT with 7-speed mode which enables the driver to choose between the shiftless acceleration of CVT and the option of 7 gears controlled by the computer.

The interior of the car is very roomy generally because of the relocation of the fuel tank under the front row seats which has made the rear vaster. The car can also offer a variety of seating arrangements which gives more convenience for placing cargo, for fitting in lengthier objects, for fitting in items with height or it may be converted into a lounge style sitting arrangement as well. In the Utility mode of the seating arrangement allows the 6:4 split rear seats to dive-down which enables changeovers to a 1,810mm flat, low-floor luggage compartment with single swift operation and the headrests are not needed to be removed.

The Long mode of the seating arrangement adds more to the Utility mode and allows the front passenger seat to fully recline and create sufficient room for items as long as 2,700mm. Then there is the Tall mode in which the rear seat cushions tip up to create another cargo room of 1,250mm in height. And last but not least the Refresh mode which involves removing of the front headrests and fully reclining the seat backs this helps in creating enough space to stretch the legs out and have a relaxing time during the breaks from driving, allowing the passengers to lie back in and gaze upon the view from the Sky Roof.

The built of the car is strong and the structure has rigidity in it and offers sound safety features. Honda is also well known for its safety attributes and this car is no exception. The Airwave has received good ratings for the front side, over the top and rear impacts on the road. The car comes with 11 airbags and an electronic system to control it. Other safety features include the antilock brake system and the stability control.

Honda Airwave is without a shadow of a doubt an efficient car and it definitely live up to the expectations. The car for some people may be down on looks as the station wagons are not a pretty sight however Honda has given this one a nice dynamic design. The model offers a carefree urban cruising. The bumper of the car also flows smoothly into the sides to give a round off look and the addition of aggressive front grille gives a unique style to it. As for the performance the Airwave has that edge over the other hatchback cars. It is exceptionally spacious, safe and secure and offers good mileage as well. All these features at such an acceptable price range surely makes it a must buy car. So if you are a brand lover and want a good, stable, family car the Airwave is the right option for you as it not only offers the performance of a good branded car but also provides spacious rooms for the passengers and the for the luggage as well. The car is designed for you to enjoy your trip.
