Hennessey Goes Wild: Venom F5 Will Have 1400 HP And Top Speed Of 466 km/h
|   Tuesday, August 12, 2014
10 years ago Bugatti Veyron represented the top automotive engineering, with 1001 HP developed its W16 engine, and is still considered unmatched. Meanwhile, Veyron gets interesting challenges, the last of them being the Hennessey Venom F5.

For some, the Bugatti Veyron is the absolute peak that a supercar can reach. For others, the tip is the successful testing of Koenigsegg to make history with the model One: 1. But there is a fierce rival for Bugatti and Koenigsegg.
Not a builder in the true sense of the word, but rather a special tuner going by the name Hennessey. With Americans origins, those from Hennessey have specialized in recent years in the development and modification of models hailing from known car manufacturers.

However, the name Hennessey is assimilated with a special model: the Venom GT. Developed on the platform of the Lotus Elise, the Venom GT in recent months has become a stand-alone model whose sole purpose in life seems to be to be a landmark of supercars from around the world.

That is why the Hennessey Venom GT test that has succeeded in February this year to break the absolute record top speed achieved by a production car is the best argument in this regard. With 435.22 km/h achieved at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the Venom GT beat the previous record (431,072 km / h) owned by Bugatti Veyron Super Sport since July 2010.

Well, even if the successful record attempt has generated a lot of controversy at that time (the test was not approved for that ca and did not do a race in the opposite direction as the rules say), the model will soon be ready and will serve as the world's most spectacular supercar. Its name will be Hennessey Venom F5 and some of its technical details have been officially announced by the manufacturer: 1,400 horsepower squeezed from a V8 twin-turbo engine, displacing 7.0 liters, and a top speed of 466 km / h.

Hennessey promises more carbon to replace metal, and a drag coefficient worthy of video games. According to Hennessey, the engine will exceed all that has been produced so far in the world as far as power goes; at least until the appearance of a Bugatti Veyron successor, scheduled for 2016. That monster will come with 1500 horsepower taken out from a hybrid system combining the current W16 engine with one or two electrical units. Until then, the new American model will reign supreme in this chapter.

Among other interesting facts about the new Venom F5 is the fact that the total weight of the car will not exceed 1,300 kilograms, and that going from 0-300 km / h will take place in less than 13.5 seconds. Finally, the total production shall not exceed 30 units. The price is the equivalent 900,000 euro.
The new Hennessey Venom F5 is named after the highest tornado code. F5 means on the Fujita scale winds speeds between 420 km / h and 510 km / h.
