German car makers Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH is all set to launch the revamped Apollo on a worldwide basis. The idea of the car was conceived in late 2000 by Roland Gumpert and the primary visualization was to build a super car that would be considered street legal by the authorities worldwide.

The vehicle can be ordered via Gumpert's personal website and contact numbers and a few selected guests have been invited by the manufacturer for trying out the new vehicle.
The vehicle is manufactured strictly on special request and the detailed specification and price is not disclosed in public.

The Apollo has been designed with the help of Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences and the Technical University of Munich and the vehicle is an overall mid engine vehicle built on a tubular chrome chassis and features a body frame made of seasoned fiberglass. The body is extremely light weight and meant for performance racing and the two seated vehicle is well suited to the race track.

The aerodynamic design of the Apollo and rear wheel drive technology distributes the power and weight perfectly and the vehicle attains a top speed of 197 mph when pushed to the limit. The vehicle feels completely at home when revved hard and long and the high speed torque induction could pose a problem for slow traffic movements and the car could prove to be a little difficult to control.

The vehicle features a new coat of paint and the vibrant racing hues make the ride aesthetically appealing and the Apollo has received a lot of praise for being an innovative machine that it is. The Gumpert Apollo is powered by an Audi bi turbo charged inter cooler V8 engine and produces a massive 4163 cc.

The engine consists of a light material – possibly aluminum - and features advanced lubrication method to reduce friction as much as possible. The engine also has five over head cam shafts along with five valves per cylinder and the double free flow exhaust has a special oxygen flow monitor which calculates the amount of oxygen passing through the exhaust pipe at all times.

The new V8 also features fuel injection system along with electronic ignition and this assists better performance of the vehicle.
The Gumpert Apollo has three separate engine variants and the base version produces 641 BHP, the sports engine produces 689 BHP and the higher placed race engine produces 790 BHP. The Gumpert Apollo is a store house of modern equipments and the vehicle has most modern technologies like the GPS, music system, a 7 inch touch screen projecting all the electronic features of the vehicle, etc.

The electronic devices used in the car are of high quality finish and they hype the interior of the Apollo. The Gumpert Apollo is like a Rolls Royce performing like a Formula One vehicle. The transfusion is done amazingly and the vehicle is a prized collection for the lucky few who own the beast. The Apollo is a major creativity which has blinded out the line between luxury and performance vehicles.
