GM stops the deliveries of some 2012-13 model due to software problems
|   Monday, September 17, 2012
Many of the models of the 2013 automobile production has been clogged by the General Motors as the company found some faults in the software in the car that might affect its Onstar system.

The Onstar system helps drivers to communicate with the Onster call center at the time of the accident. The fault in the system is therefore very vital as the necessary software required for the purpose have failed which is actually a severe problem.

The emergency button in the Onstar does not show any change and this may prevent drivers to connect to the expert adviser for their guidance at the time necessary.

Many of the other GM cars have the same problem with the software where some of them are the top selling car such as the Cruze.

In a statement from the company's spokesman Alan Adler, the company is trying hard to come up with the problem and repairing all the vehicles (around 60000) which are complained with the same problem by the dealers. The models that have come through a problem include cars like 2013 Chevrolet Cruze and also the Cadillac XTS as well as ATS. The 2012 model of the Cadillac SRX has also the same fault in the software.

"The problem in the software will be corrected very soon and expected to be resolved by next week" Adler said.

Some of the models of general Motors have cleared with the requirements that are needed for the sales of the car as the company had resolved the fault in the system by upgrading the flash remotely with the help of Onstar system. However there is no such news that how many have been fixed till now.

Conversely, this method would not work on all the models of the General Motor's so the company has to fix the problem manually.
On Wednesday, all the dealers received a notification from the General motors as not to sell any further vehicle until the problem is corrected. "It's not been a big issue as the media are showing it. Such mistakes happen and nobody wants to do it knowingly" said Adler.

"The problem with the software came in front of the GM engineers at the time of the crash testing", Adler said. "Till now, there is no such news arrived about any of the customer that has been affected due to the software problem" he added.

In the late August, the company had sent a notice to all the owners of the cars that are already sold calling for the car back to resolve the problem.

The statement of Do Not Deliver Any Vehicle has brought up as bad news for the dealers of Cadillac who were very excited to sell the latest Cadillac ATS, which was promoted greatly at the time of the Olympics games. This has also disappointed the customers who were looking to buy the car this month as they have to wait a little more for it which is surely a setback on the part of the company.
