Jim Glickenhaus can safely be regarded as the biggest car nut of the century. The Hollywood filmmaker and investment banker has the biggest collection of vintage cars and some of the most desirable classic vehicles from Ferrari. Jim Glickenhaus also owns the classic Alfa 8C – one of the most iconic vehicles in America – and is known for owning some of the outrageously priced vehicles in the world.

Jim Glickenhaus evolved from being just another classic car collector in 2006 when he requested Pininfarina to modify his Ferrari Enzo into a P4/5.
Nonetheless Pininfarina obliged and the next project was to turn the Ferrari 430 Scuderia into a P4/5 Competizione vehicle, which has taken part in various field endurance races. Jim Glickenhaus has announced a new project known as the P33 and the deadline for which is the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

The P33 is expected to be smaller than the P4/5 on the overall ergonomics and could be the size of the Dino Competizione owned by Jim Glickenhaus. Weighing close to 1600 kg, the P33 is expected to feature a twin turbo petrol hybrid V6 engine displacing 500 BHP within a three wing canopy setup resembling the Concept 1970 Ferrari 512 S Modulo. The vehicle is expected to be built out of carbon fiber and will be designed by Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus. Further details regarding the project are unavailable and proceedings are expected to be revealed to the public as and when they happen.

With the 2013 race season just round the corner, car makers are getting busy showcasing the latest machines ready for the season. Among the few latest reveals, the most important ones are the BMW Z4 GTE, Maserati Gran Turismo MC Trofeo, Porsche 911 GT3 and the Cadillac CTS – V Coupe. All the vehicles draw power from twin turbo V8 engines and the first challenge that these cars will face is the Pirelli World Challenge.

This touring car series based out of North America was sanctioned by the SCCA and includes four distinct stages of racing across different classes. The top class features vehicles such as the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG, Audi R8, Nissan GT – R, Chevrolet Corvette, Volvo S60 and the Porsche 911.
However, it was the CTS – V that took the crown last year. Cadillac plans on repeating history this year as well with the CTS – V Coupe. Cadillac has reportedly made some minor changes to the adjustment of the vehicle and the aerodynamic kit. This is set to enhance performance as well as make the vehicle look good.

The new season is all set to kick off this Saturday, 23rd March and will take place at St. Petersburg – the Honda Grand Prix. Cadillac reigning champion Johnny O'Connell will be behind the wheels of a CTS – V Coupe while the other car will be piloted by Andy Pilgrim. This is set to be a fairly successful season so far as the vehicles are concerned. The performance of the driver and constructors need to be witnessed.
