Ford Unveils the First Look of the 2015 Mustang
|   Saturday, August 31, 2013
First images of the 2015 Ford Mustang have been revealed and this vehicle is set to be close to 400 pounds lighter than the current generation vehicle. The Mustang is set to be a high performance sports car while numerous modifications have been made to the car. The Mustang has been made more muscular than its predecessor and the head lamps along with the front and rear bumper and side panels have been modified to give the vehicle a new look and feel.

The front grille is the new hexagonal pattern designed by Ford while the head lamps have been designed keeping in mind that of the Fusion Sedan. The first of test mules were spotted back in late July and the cars were spotted in Arizona. The interior was not disclosed at the moment, although glimpses of the pony's interior are now available.

The interior features a three spoke steering wheel along with heavy seat covers. The general black theme of the exterior was carried forward into the interior although whether this is carried into the production version, remains to be seen. The new addition to the car is the driver's powered head rest. A recent video has also surfaced which shows the Mustang in action.

The V8 power train is finally seen in action and the noise is heard for the first time. The V8 used in the Mustang is quite and powerful as well as refined and this as a result ensures high fuel efficiency. The drop in the overall weight of the vehicle is an additional benefit on the car and enhances performance. Even though the dimensions of the vehicle are kept intact, the ride height has been lowered and this should enhance handling and comfort on the car.

The 3.7 liter V8 powering the 2014 Mustang, has been lifted off its predecessor, although Ford is also offering an Eco Boost engine on the car. The Eco Boost engine displaces 350 BHP while a higher powered engine could also be introduced in the lineup. Experts believe that the high powered engine could displace up to 420 – 450 BHP although the figures remain officially unconfirmed.

If industry rumors are accepted, Ford plans on naming the next generation Mustang as the Shelby GT350. The vehicle could also be powered by a naturally aspirated engine instead of the current generation super charged V8. Ford plans on replacing the current generation six speed transmission with a ten speed automatic transmission which is currently under development. The switch gear has been enhanced and this gives the interior a whole new appeal.

The suspension has been upgraded and this gives the Mustang greater control over asphalt. The car lacks over steer, present in most of its predecessors and this is good news for the market. A public debut is hugely anticipated and Ford is expected to launch this car soon enough. The company however has huge expectations from the Mustang and as a result they plan on bringing everything together before the car is finally up for sale.
