Ford Fusion Hybrid - The hot-selling midsize sedan
|   Friday, September 06, 2013
The well known Ford Motor Company was established by Henry Ford in the year 1903. In 1908 the Ford Company first introduced its Model T; this car was a huge success. From then onwards Ford has become one of the world's most profitable automobile companies. It has made every type of car according to the trend and requirement of the people such as the fast & furious Mustang, the Ford RS200 rally car and American muscle Ford Torino. Mustang has recently concentrated on the manufacturing of Eco-friendly cars.
Currently Ford is producing few Hybrid cars such as Ford Focus, Ford C-max and the hot-selling midsize sedan the "Ford Fusion".

The 2014 model of Ford Fusion is most wanted by the people due to the fact that it is a lot upgraded from the previous model. Keeping the exterior same as before, the car is now powered by a lithium-ion battery combined with a more powerful 118 horsepower motor which allows the Fusion to reach a speed of 62 mph only on battery. The 2013 Ford Fusion comes with a much upgraded 2.0 litre Atkinson-cycle I-4 gasoline engine. The Plug-in Hybrid also comes with a 1.6 litre and 1.5 litres EcoBoost Engine. 1.6 L EcoBoost engine is accompanied by manual transmission whereas 1.5L EcoBoost Engine comes with a six-speed Automatic transmission. Both the EcoBoost engines are engineered to be fuel-efficient without compromising on power. The CO2 emissions are also much lower.

The Ford Fusion's interior is quite decent and well equipped. With standard capacity of seating five, this car is still much spacious as compared to other plug-in hybrid cars like Toyota Prius Hybrid and Kia Optima. The 2014 Fusion model comes with a Ford Sync system and also has a voice-activated Navigation System which comes along with SiriusXM travel and traffic.

The exterior of Ford Fusion is as same as 2013 model but now more options are added like the Chrome grills, rear deck spoiler and ruby red metallic tinted clear coat. Ford also offers 18" and 19" Premium Painted Luxury Wheels which gives the new Ford Fusion a transforming look like a Racing car.

Due to its big engine-size and aerodynamic sporty look, the Ford Fusion has become the top selling car in the USA. Ford has been producing around 250,000 Fusions each year at its plant at Mexico. "We could have sold more if we had more" said Joe Hinrichs, President of Ford USA. But this wasn't enough to satisfy the demand for the Electric powered Fusion. Therefore, the Ford Motor Company has decided to begin the making of the Plug-in Hybrid at its plant at Flat-Rock, Michigan. This plant previously manufactured the legendary Ford Mustang Cars. This plant will add 30% in total i.e. 350,000 units will be produced annually. To increase the output, Ford has decided to hire 1400 workers that would work in the second-shift. Ford Company is excited about this new Fusion Hybrid and expects it to be a huge success. Let's just wait and watch now.
