Ford Fiesta ST - simply brilliant
|   Friday, June 21, 2013
The ST has always been a super mini car. It has a four-cylinder engine with 1.6-litre Eco-boost turbocharged unit and a six-speed manual transmission. The speed from 0-62mph is reached in 6.9sec with a top speed of 139mph this mini turbo is a blast. Combined fuel consumption is 47.9mpg and carbon dioxide emissions are 138g/km. For the Ford Fiesta ST buyers price is most impressive aspect of this car.

ST is powered with a start button, high beam LED lamps and equipped with privacy glass, heated and leather seats and a Sony CD and radio with Ford's very own voice-controlled interface.
However, there is not a lot of room in this car for tall persons to sit in, beside the room for head, the legroom is literally none. The design of ST is more of a rally car than a sporty one.

The interior of this car is like it is an injection molding of the driver and it all works pretty well but it doesn't look or feel of that particular high quality. As far as the room luggage is concerned, it is not too much of a matter because a hot hatch car is of course not known for its suitcase-swallowing ability.

The ST can definitely be powerful vehicle, but not on the motorway, as the buzzing engine and the racket from the tires make it a noisy car but with a turbo engine, who really cares about it, right! The engine goes pretty well till about 1,500rpm, but it starts vibrating at about 2,000rpm, which goes through the major controls but it has no affect on the power delivery, which is 7,000rpm.
.
Once you are off the motorway you immediately realize the purpose of the car. It is a brilliant vehicle, with grip and power. The brakes are very strong and powerful as the pedal is very sensitive, perhaps more than convenience. The Ford Fiesta ST absolutely overpowers the roads and is definitely the kind of a car which can make the supercar owners think twice.

The steering of ST is very good and is creatively communicative. It definitely is the better ones around in this era of electronically assisted systems. However, the engine's torque will tug the wheel in high speed acceleration care is need to be taken while overtaking because the tires will go with the shape of the wavy roads.

Ford Fiesta ST is simply brilliant, right in the top list of greatest hot hatchbacks. The car is designed to have fun on the roads and take off while being in the comfort. The price tag for such a vehicle is even more mind-blowing especially if one dreams about driving at high speeds in a supercar. The ST is unarguably the best fun you can have in this price range. But speaking of supercars, on the other side Fiesta's interior isn't as good. But if you love driving this is the car you need. It is the true combination of high speed performance and affordability.
