Ford Fiesta Is Now The Most Technologically Advanced Small Class Model
|   Saturday, January 07, 2017
Ford Fiesta celebrates four decades of success and the new generation starts off with some technological arguments that exceed the competition's standards.
The new Ford Fiesta will be offered in several extra versions of equipment than in previous generations. Basic equipment will be Trend and Titanium trim level, and that is because it was the choice of 48 percent Fiesta customers in 2016. As usual there will be a sports variant, ST (boasting spoilers, better suspension, sports steering wheel and seats).

On top of that we have the Vignale luxurious trim (leather upholstery with hexagonal stitching, 18-inch rims with special design), as well as the Fiesta Active crossover, which is distinguished by its high ground clearance, rail roof and additional protective elements of the bodywork, which give off a look reminiscent of SUVs. Ford notes that the Active stylistic approach will be implemented on the rest of the models in the range too.

Ford Fiesta can be equipped with two video cameras, three radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors that monitor the presence of other vehicles or obstacles around the car, for a distance of 130 meters in front of the car (more than the length of a football field). An assist system that helps avoid collisions detects both vehicles and pedestrians when they are in the way the car or are about to cross in front of the car. The new parking assist system offers automatic handling the car. If the driver does not brake to avoid collision with obstacles during parking or vehicles in front and back, then the parking assistance system automatically activates the brakes.

The list of equipment includes traffic signs recognition system, headlights that automatically turn on and off the high beam to avoid dazzling other participants in traffic, adaptive cruise control, sensors to detect cars in blind spots, distance to the car in front indicator, driver fatigue warning system, correcting the steering wheel to keep the car in the same lane, warning for a potential frontal collision system, Cross Traffic Alert, that warns the driver when another car is about to go through the back of his Ford Fiesta, when running a maneuver in reverse.

Furthermore, the voice command function is extended. For example, the driver can speak requirements such as "I need coffee," "I need gas", "I need parking," and the system will locate gas stations, parking lots, airports, train stations, hotels etc.
The engine is a familiar one, the EcoBoost variant with a displacement of 1 liter with 3 cylinders and offering 100, 125 or 140 horsepower.
Then we have a diesel model with a displacement of 1.5 liters, with two versions of which one has 120 horsepower. The entry level version is 3-cylinder one with a displacement of 1.1 liters and a manual gearbox with 5 speeds.

The current Ford Fiesta generation is very appreciated for its dynamic behavior. The new generation carries on the abilities, providing 10 percent more grip thanks to a torque control system. At the same time, the braking distance from the 100 km / h is shorter by 8 percent. The models with more than 100 HP are equipped with disc brakes on the rear axle too.
