First Official Pictures And Information On Renault's Talisman Estate

Renault replaced the Laguna and Latitude with a single model titled Talisman and it takes to Frankfurt the householder clothes in the form of the Renault Talisman Estate station wagon version.

The successor to the Laguna promises royal interior space for five passengers. With a more a generous wheelbase of 2.81 meters, the new Renault Talisman break displays identical values to those of the sedan, in terms of length and width, listed to 4.86 respectively 1.

Renault Talisman Estate, the second body variant of the French D-segment model range, was presented before the official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The French model follows the same aesthetic lines that were used for the saloon version. It is offered with the same technologies and engines, but comes in addition with a generous trunk, which provides more luggage space for five occupants.

The trunk is significantly smaller, 572 liters versus 608 liters. But this small inconvenience disappears with folding the bench seat. This operation releases a huge space of 1,700 liters. For comparison, the old Laguna offered between 508 and 1,593 liters. The maximum length of the loading space reaches 2.01 meters.

As for the saloon version, Renault intends that the Talisman version to be the most spacious model of the middle class, and the Estate version scored 30 millimeters in addition to the occupants' heads from behind when compared with the sedan from the range.
Renault will provide the new Talisman Estate with the same engines that are available alongside the saloon version of the range: three diesels and two petrol engines.

Diesel units are Energy dCi engines offering 110 hp, 130 hp and 160 hp (the latter for the twin-turbo version).
At the same time, the range using with gasoline has two Energy TCe units of 150 HP and 200 HP. Regardless of the chosen engine, the new Talisman is offered with R-Link 2 multimedia system and a generous choice of driver assistance systems.

This offer includes road sign recognition and blind spot monitor, up to the active emergency braking system, active cruise control, and a system for avoiding exceeding the maximum speed stated on signs.

EDC dual clutch transmission is standard on the top diesel and optional for other models. At least initially, Renault Talisman is available with all-wheel drive. Renault offers, however, 4Control chassis with integrated steering and adaptive shock absorbers along with the Multisense system that allows configuring the steering, suspension, engine and gearbox, in four modes - Eco, Comfort, Neutral, and Sport.

Inside, the Talisman Estate spoils its future owners with the new R-Link 2 infotainment system with internet connection, 7-inch portrait format touchscreen, head-up display and a Bose professional sound system. The anatomical front seats spoils their passengers with multiple electrical adjustments, including head restraints and lumbar support, and functions for heating, ventilation and massage.

Renault Talisman in both its body versions will hit the market in 2016.
The production of the new model is to take place at the plant in Douai, France, where Renault has already invested over 420 million euros to complete assembly lines upgrades.
