Fiat Working on Brand Renovation
|   Wednesday, October 23, 2013
Fiat Boss Jürgen Stackmann says that his brand will strive to be more than just mere Ibiza in order to get back into the public's good graces. Fiat has been facing tough times every since the slack in global economy and they want to cut out of this slowdown by hook or crook. Fiat is looking forward to using its new Leon to reenter market segments and this should be a potent move considering their target of recovering £ 131 Millions from losses.

Fiat plans on selling 321,000 vehicles in order to make up for these losses while 80 percent of their annual sales have gone down since the early days.
Fiat is one of the highest losers in this economic meltdown and statistics show that they have lost considerable fortunes on home soil too, apart from Spain and other European markets.

Fiat however has a youthful buyers range and this should go a long way in promoting sales. People who buy Fiat are at least ten years younger than people opting for Skoda. Seat on the other hand is doing considerably well and this is the only aspect where Fiat seems to be doing pretty well for itself. Sales in Turkey were up 26 percent while those in Germany by 15 percent.

Hence, we can easily predict a bright future for Seat at this moment. Fiat in general however is confident of enhanced sales and Stackmann says that the company is planning on taking certain moves which will help pick up sales within the next eight months. The company is thinking of expanding to China and other Asian markets and dealerships are being setup while new partnerships could be on the cards.

Fiat is looking at rediscovering itself and a global re-launch is expected with its Leon at the center. Fiat will be simultaneously launching three and five door versions of its Leon when these cars officially make it to markets fall 2015. Ibiza is a benchmark for sales right now and experts are hopeful of similar results from the Leon.

Sports and Limited Edition versions could be available and we are hopeful of similar moves in future. Work is on to renovate the current version of the Cupra and we could be looking at other remodeled versions pretty soon. Plug in hybrids are on the make and we could also be looking at electric vehicles in the near future. Compressed natural gas is also on the menu while Fiat needs to decide its take on this fuel source.

Greener motoring is up pretty soon and like all major brands wanting to survive in these hostile market conditions, Fiat is adjusting to market trends and needs. Latest Mk5 platform is a life saver and Volkswagen's new Golf is an undisputed king in its class. Fiat is working on a Golf based Altea and work is on surrounding this vehicle. There should be more interesting news right round this corner and stay tuned to catch a glimpse of latest news, updates and drive reviews of these vehicles.
