Fiat 500 Facelift: Minor Exterior Changes And A Seriously Modified Interior
|   Sunday, July 26, 2015
Fiat 500 received a facelift both on the inside and outside after 8 years since its launch. The Italians have operated major changes at the level of the cabin.
Although most manufacturers usually launch two generations in a period of 8 years, the Italian model received a facelift but also many special editions and derivative versions in these 8 years of existence. Launched in 2007, when it returned to the market after a break of more than 30 years, the Fiat 500 is the model around which the Fiat brand image was rebuilt.
This is one reason for which the conservative attitude of the builder is understandable.

The Fiat 500, which to date has sold in 1.5 million copies in the 50s and 60s and was the model that motorized Italy is now a chic car with a double price compared to other competing models. Because the Fiat 500 is the most important Fiat vector image, it enjoyed a great commercial success and the car could stay on the market almost 8 years without a serious facelift.

Fiat officials say they have made over 1,800 changes in design, but the new version of the Fiat 500 is not changed dramatically compared to the generation launched eight years ago.

The Italians redesigned the front optical blocks, front bumper, hood, rear bumper, taillights and the car profile.
Among the most obvious changes we have the revised headlights, circled by the new daytime LED lights, redesigned lamps, multiple chrome accents, 15- or 16-inch alloy wheels available in various forms, and the new colors for the bodywork such as Glam Coral, or Avantgarde Bordeaux.

The Fiat 500 retains the body versions available until now: three-door hatchback and convertible. As equipment we have three versions: Pop, Popstar and Lounge.
The standard version, Pop comes with seven airbags, Uconnect Radio 5" audio system with six speakers, AUX-IN and USB, steering wheel controls, and daylight (DRL) with LED technology.

The next version, Popstar, adds to the list of standard equipment air conditioning with manual adjustment, chrome mirror caps and retro lids wheels.
The top equipment version, Lounge, brings in addition a panoramic roof, 15-inch alloy wheels, chrome grille, Uconnect Radio 5 "LIVE multimedia system with touchscreen and steering wheel controls, leather wrapped too.

Of course, for each of the three standard equipment versions there is a long list of optional features and the customization modes in the style of premium cars.
The engine range of the Fiat 500 facelift includes only Euro 6 engines, both available with manual transmissions and automatic Dualogic units. At launch, the Italians will offer the Fiat 500 facelift with a 1.2 liter motorization with 69 hp and the 0.9 TwinAir unit rated at 85 hp or 105 hp.

The range will receive liquid gas variant the 1.2-liter engine, together with a Multijet II diesel displacing 1.3 liters and rated at 95 hp.
The new Fiat 500 facelift's commercial debut is set for autumn this year.
