Ferrari could showcase the F150 at the Detroit Motor Show
|   Sunday, January 13, 2013
Ferrari has officially released the first pictures of what the 2013 Enzo hyper car could look like and the first images were showcased in The Official Ferrari Magazine. The all new Enzo will be powered by an 800 BHP displacing engine while the car itself weighs a little over 1100 kg. This gives it an amazing power to weight advantage and Ferrari promises to make this vehicle a thrilling race car.

The Enzo hyper car, code named the F 150 is due to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show 2013 however it will be available across Ferrari showrooms only post spring 2014.
Like the upcoming McLaren P1, the Ferrari F 150 features a chassis made out of carbon fiber and the overall aerodynamics of the vehicle has been altered The driving position of the F 150 has also been modified and this gives the driver a more upright position which gives a better view up front.

With a price tag of over £800,000 the Ferrari F 150 will provide people the thrill of driving an F1 car. The cabin has also been altered to resemble that of an F1 sports car and the driver is set to get an overall better feel of driving, once inside the cabin of this vehicle. The F 150 is based on the 2005 concept FXX track car from Ferrari but it is actually designed on the Millechili2007 concept.

Ferrari had plans to launch a vehicle weighing as close to 1000 kg as possible and this was in order to celebrate Ferrari's 60th anniversary. The F 150 is designed around a compact carbon fiber monocoque design which weighs just 70 kg and features a lithium ion battery pack powering a small electric motor.

A 6.3 liter petrol V12 is set to be at the heart of the F 150 and although no details have been revealed as of yet, the new engine is expected to produce close to 750 BHP. The electric motor on the other hand could produce 100 BHP along with 200 ft lb of torque. Although the F 150 will not be powered solely by the electric motor, the vehicle is based on the Hy-KERS hybrid technology.

This will give the F 150 a minor performance upgrade in improving the 0 – 100 MPH timing by 10 percent. Ferrari claims that that the new V12 engine used in the F 150 emits 40 percent less CO2 than its predecessor. However this is a claim that needs testing which is not possible at the moment as Ferrari has not launched a prototype as of yet.

The roof of the carbon monocoque design has been hooked onto the body and the seating arrangement of the driver has been redone so that the driver gets a more radical and upright position while driving. The steering wheel and pedal box are adjustable and most of the controls are thought to be mounted on the steering wheel itself. This is a radical change of design which could make the F 150 a worthwhile choice.
