Fall 2015: Novelties In BMW's Range
|   Wednesday, November 11, 2015
BMW's improvements in its model range already offered some goodies: three times this year, in March, July and November. Now, by launching additional variants of engines and equipment for the new BMW 7 Series, BMW X1 and BMW 2 Series Active Tourer starting in the fall of 2015, BMW offers a greater diversity within its range of models.

Immediately after market launch a second diesel engine will be available for the latest generation BMW 7 Series, the V8 engine being now available in combination with rear wheel drive.

Also, the range of models for the BMW X1 will be completed soon after launch by introducing a gasoline engine with three cylinders in the latest generation of engines for the BMW Group, and another version with four-wheel drive.

Beginning with November 2015 two additional model variants for the BMW 2 Active Tourer will be offered for sale.
In parallel with expanding the portfolio of engines, the range of optional equipment available for the BMW 7 Series will be supplemented with new outstanding elements. From November 2015 it will be possible to equip the first variant of the luxury sedan model with autonomous parking function with key control, an absolute world premiere. The new BMW X1 will be available, in addition to the basic model, Advantage, Sport Line and xLine versions, with an M Sport version too. Furthermore, an optimized Parking Assistant system, which, due to additional sensor ensures more precise maneuvering in parking spaces, will be available from autumn 2015.

The character of the new BMW 7 Series is characterized by driving pleasure and traditional luxury that opens new perspectives. The luxury sedan is optionally available with standard or long wheelbase. From November 2015 a novelty in the range is the six-cylinder diesel engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, which features turbocharging in several stages, and direct injection common-rail, whose piezo injectors supply the combustion chamber at a maximum pressure of 2,500 bar.

The newly developed 3.0-liter diesel engine from the latest range of engines provides a maximum power of 235 kW / 320 hp and torque up to 680 Nm. The car will debut with intelligent all-wheel drive technology BMW xDrive.

On the BMW 740d xDrive and BMW 740Ld xDrive models the engine power facilitates acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.2, respectively 5.3 seconds. Average fuel consumption and emissions are 5.3 to 4.9 l / 100 km and 139 - 129 g / km for BMW 740d xDrive, respectively 5.4 to 5.0 l / 100 km and 142 -132 g / km for the BMW 740Ld xDrive (data according to the EU test cycle, depending on selected tire size).
A new version with Parking Assistant option will become available starting November 2015 for many BMW models in the current portfolio. The system, which is available in combination with the Park Distance Control helps the driver in choosing and accessing parking spaces located parallel or perpendicular to the roadway.

Now the system covers the side of the car too. Two additional sensors located in the rear wing of the car detect any potential obstacle. Due to the optimized monitoring of the car's immediate surroundings the driver is informed about the distance to an obstacle during parking via beeper and a colorful graphical representation on the operating system, iDrive control.
