Many people have certain specifications and choices when it comes to cars and when in America, you are sure to vote for an American made. Therefore, it does not come as a surprise when people vote for Chevrolet or Cadillac or Ford, as a matter of fact. The depth of the passion however is fat fetched and permanent. Electric cars are on their way to gain dominance in the market and the local players are already trying their hand in the new technology.

With the rising concern over the depleting nature of the environment, electric cars are the next generation of vehicles. The first official campaign is called Plug in America and this features conscious individuals working for educating the society on the ill effects of harmful vehicle emissions on the environment.

Paul Scott is an environmentalist and an active participant in almost all major environment friendly marches and protest. After he was diagnosed with cancer back in 2002, Scott was left with no option but to stay away from such events. However, recently Scott did something that most of us would just think about doing. He spent $34,000 just to show up with President Barack Obama. Scott had to play the amount to the Democrats and when questioned, he said that he had to do it considering the impact it would have on his future meetings and to the public.

This was purely a way to attract public attention to the growing despair amongst Mother Nature and he is hopeful that people will be aware of the growing difficulties. Scott paid the amount from his retirement account, depleting it with a great amount nonetheless. However, he felt that he had to do it considering the outcome.

When contacted about the meeting, Scott said that he was indeed very tensed about the meeting as there will be at least 25 people in the room with President Obama and the amount shelled out by him is a mere pocket change to them. However, it is a great percentage of his life savings and Scott is willing to risk them for the environment.
