Eagle Showcases the Latest Speedster
|   Saturday, May 04, 2013
The Jaguar F Type has been face lifted and given the basic interpretation of the E Type vehicle to attract public attention. However, a company called Eagle has taken its own stand on the interpretation of the design. The vehicle is called the Eagle Speedster and if you are looking forward to owning one, you need to relive your pocket of £600,000, considering the fact that you could coax Eagle into creating a unit just for you.

The first Eagle Speedster has been exported to America and the second unit was just tested by prominent drivers (findings mentioned later in the article) while the third model is almost complete.
Models four, five and six are under production and Eagle has no immediate plans on manufacturing more units of the Speedster at the moment. Eagle plans on keeping things exclusive.

Eagle is best known for raking in Jaguar E Types and restoring and modifying them for the past two decades. However, the firm does not indulge in partial restoration and hence if you proceed to Eagle with a request to fit in their bespoke alloyed rims or 4.7 liter engine or transmission system, your request is bound to be turned down politely.

The major reason behind this policy is that, while most Jaguars look great from the exterior, they tend to have minor problems bugging them on the mechanical and as a result, if a Jaguar has to be transformed into an Eagle, the transformation needs to be complete, or so the engineers feel. If you are brave enough, you could purchase an E Type for as little as £15,000 and hands the vehicle to Eagle for an additional £250,000 for a fully functional Eagle.

The Speedster was originally designed to pay tribute to the light weight E Type vehicles in 1963. Therefore, the Speedster, like all E Types, sport an all aluminum frame with a fuel injected diesel engine mated to a five speed transmission system. The Speedster weighs less than 1008 kg and is hence at the top of its game in terms of power and precision.

The weight factor makes the Speedster lighter than the lightest Ford Fiesta on road and hence the power to weight ratio can be averaged. The vehicle is also quite low and features one of the least ground clearances in its segment. It sits lower than the Lotus Elise and hence the handling aspect of this vehicle is beyond question. Eagle has made minor modifications to the exterior panels of the Speedster while topping it off with a unique paint scheme.

This differentiates between the vehicles and increases the appeal of the Speedster. The vehicle looks exclusive from all direction. The interior faces minor changes as well and Eagle makes sure that the minute details are covered exclusively before the vehicle is delivered to the customers. Eagle designs each unit of the Speedster exclusively for specific customers and this vehicle is built to custom orders. Therefore, if you want to own an Eagle, you need to order in advance.
