Driving the Jaguar F Type S Coupe on Street Conditions
|   Saturday, March 22, 2014
Jaguar's new S Coupe stands for everything that we have known about the British car making legends for all these years. This vehicle represents class with a sporty edge and has the potential to take on the best of both worlds. It is admittedly a little short on power as compared to Ferrari's V8 engines, although it is sufficiently refined for its budget. Hence, if you are looking for a true bred British super car, the Jaguar F Type S Coupe is what you need.

Priced at £25,000 less than Ferrari's top level performance car, this vehicle has a unique stability and position of its own, in class. Powered by a high revving 376 BHP displacing V6 engine block mated to an eight speed ZF transmission system, this vehicle is capable of accelerating from 0 – 60 MPH within 4.9 seconds, while reaching top speeds of 171 MPH.

You are at liberty to choose from a manual or fully automated transmission system at the time of purchase, although both offer similar performance on real world scenarios. A true bred driver will always yearn for a stick drive, although the S Coupe's automatic does not disappoint. If you want to cruise along the scenic highways and roads in Europe, you would definitely want to do it from the posh cabin of the F Type S Coupe.

Experts claim this vehicle is for the self proclaimed drivers, who find joy in maneuvering a vehicle and controlling every aspect of his car. Even though modern technology has been used to sort out performance, this vehicle has a very classic feel to it once you are behind its wheel. Powered by a super charged 3.0 liter V6 engine, strong brakes have been added to induce confidence into the driver as well.

Modern safety mechanisms make driving fun, while you can still feel the thrill of driving. Additional 50 BHP over its predecessor make for a comforting journey, although this is best felt on long journeys. Standard 19 inch sports rims along with Dynamic mechanical slip ring differential limits wheel spin, while adjustable braking automatically applies brakes on the wheel which is slipping.

This helps balance the vehicle back on road, reducing chances of an accident. Base and mid range torque displacements differ by a maximum of 7-8 ft lb, which ironically has no difference on its 171 MPH top speed. Acceleration time however has been reduced by 0.3 seconds, while adaptive dampers assess road conditions and adjust automatically. Driving under bumpy conditions in slow speed is not difficult anymore, while enhanced Traction Control keeps this vehicle on road at all times.

If you have the required £60,235, then why not get this car? It is a one of a kind vehicle, while you buy so much more than just a vehicle. It is a British classic in every sense, although its exterior portrays an ultra modern sports convertible. Even though brands like Aston Martin, Morgan and Lotus provide competition, none of them are as successful as Jaguar.
