Dodge Unveils the SRT Viper TA
|   Thursday, November 21, 2013
Dodge unveiled its most efficient and advanced form of the Viper SRT a year back and although it may seem premature to come up with a replacement for a vehicle already so advanced, Dodge has done it again by coming up with the Limited Edition Viper TA. TA stands for Time Attack and we are not quite sure what to expect from this vehicle.

For the record, the Viper sports a peppy and matured sports engine capable of quite remarkable feats and Dodge wants us to believe that they have worked harder on something which is already perfect.
Exterior wise, both vehicles are quite similar in terms of ergonomics and dimension although competition is set to thicken with the TA in line. This vehicle draws power from a massive 8.4 liter V10 engine displacing 640 BHP along with 600 ft lb of torque which enhances acceleration quite a bit more than we had initially anticipated.

The engine is mated to a six speed transmission system with minor drivetrain changes aimed at increasing stability by 30 percent and traction by quite a bit. Stabilizers are in place and this further helps adjust the basics of this vehicle. Dodge is providing Sports, Race and Street mode and the vehicle shows sharp contrast on both these modes.

Steering is damped while the suspension is tight in Sports mode while Street drive is relaxed and smooth considering. Race mode comes in handy when you plan on going around on track or have twisted bends up front. The vehicle smoothens up into corners while its large engine displaces sufficient power to drift the car into bends. The driver gets to feel its monstrous power and beauty and this as a result has brushed off well on the car.

DampTronic dampers along with Pirelli P Zero tires adorn the car while this is the ultimate vehicle if you want to embark on a long trip through twisted terrain. This car never feels old and driving it in tricky terrain is its most exciting part. Although this is not a car for heading off road, on road it is capable of almost any type of tryst with nature.

A few very subtle modifications have been made to its exterior and this gives the vehicle a retro futuristic appeal. We are quite happy with what Dodge has on offer and would love to get out hands on a prototype as soon as possible. This however should not be a problem as prototypes are available. We will come up with a detailed drive test review on this vehicle soon.

We are looking forward to an electronically limited top speed of 160 MPH while better safety and drive assist measures are in place. Weighing in a total of 1538 kg, this vehicle has a damning power to weight ratio, which is capable of killing its competition anywhere on the go. A six speed manual is surely being missed on this vehicle although Dodge is kind enough to provide one to anyone requesting its presence.
