Dodge Introduces New Challenger T/A And Charger DaytonA
|   Sunday, September 04, 2016
The folks at Dodge have launched two new models that bring back the spirit of muscle cars - Challenger T/A and Charger Daytona!
The Dodge Challenger T/A is inspired by the classic Challenger T/A from 1970, produced in 2,399 copies for the SCCA Trans Am racing.
The new model will have three versions, focused on racing circuits - Challenger T/A, Challenger T/A Plus, and Challenger T/A 392. All three have headlamps with middle incisions (identical to those on the Challenger Hellcat), huge air hood incision in the middle, and hood security system (optional).

At the same time the hood, roof, luggage compartment cover, rear spoiler, and the classic stripe on the bodywork, with the T/A inscription, are all painted matt black. The interior gets aluminum inserts and T/A inscriptions on the seat backrests.

Challenger T/A receives a sport suspension with Bilstein shock absorbers, which reduces ground clearance by 13 mm, exhaust system with active flap, stabilization system with three modes, sports filter engine, and 20-inch black rims shod with performance tires.

The the Challenger T/A Plus version adds seats with heating and ventilation, lined in Nappa leather, the Uconnect 8.4 multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

Unlike the Challenger T/A and Challenger T/A Plus, that are equipped with a HEMI V8 engine with a displacement of 5.7 liters (380 hp), the Challenger T/A 392 version comes with huge HEMI V8 engine with a displacement of 6.4 liters, naturally aspirated, which delivers 492 hp. Also, the Challenger T/A 392 is equipped with 20-inch forged alloy wheels and Brembo performance brake system with 6-piston calipers in the front axle and 4-piston on the rear axle.

The Dodge Charger Daytona is inspired by the model with the same name produced in 1969 in 501 copies for NASCAR racing. At the same time, the distinctive elements of this model are the sharp front with retractable headlamps and huge rear spoiler, all iconic elements, otherwise. The new model comes in two versions: Charger Daytona and Charger Daytona 392.

Both versions have the film black matt on the hood with central incision (with the HEMI inscription), on the rear wings (with the DAYTONA inscription), rear spoiler and roof. Both come with sports exhaust system with active valve and exhaust pipes 100 mm in diameter, conical sports filter, Mopar, suspension and tire performance, three regime stabilization system and 20-inch rims.

While under the hood of the Dodge Charger Daytona lies a HEMI V8 engine with a displacement of 5.7 liters (375 hp), the Charger Daytona 392 version comes with a HEMI V8 engine with a displacement of 6.4 liters and 492 hp, Brembo performance braking system, with six-piston calipers in the front axle and 4-piston for the rear axle and 20-inch forged alloy wheels.

Dodge will accept orders for the 2017 Charger Daytona in September, and for the 2017 Challenger T/A in October. The Daytona has a tag of 40,985 dollars for the 5.7-liter V8 unit or 46,090 dollars for the 6.4-liter V8.

The T/A will come in three trims: basic and upscale T/A Plus, both with the 5.7-liter engine, can be found for 38,485 dollars and 41,235 dollars respectively, and the 6.4-liter variant goes for 45,090 dollars.
