The head of research and development department of Audi, Stefan Knirsch , left the Volkswagen Group after it was discovered he knew about the software problem and lied under oath.

The head of research and development department of the Volkswagen Group Audi left after they discovered that he was aware of the tactics of manipulation of the software meant to trick emission tests.

The Dieselgate scandal is a nightmare that seems never ending for Volkswagen and more recently, for all those who are part of the giant German group.

After agreements with the authorities in the United States, it is now the European Union's turn to put pressure on the manufacturer from Wolfsburg and ask them to fix the 8.5 million vehicles affected by Dieselgate in Europe as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, investors have created a common alliance and are now demanding compensation for the losses suffered at the stock market because of the emissions scandal.

As if this was not enough, a new "bomb" exploded in the courtyard of the Germans, this time affecting Audi.
According to the latest information, Knirsch Stefan, head of research and development department, left the Volkswagen Group after it was discovered last week that he knew about the software problem and lied under oath.

The announcement was made by Volkswagen officials through a press release in which they further specified that Knirsch left Audi immediately, without offering any more details.

Considering the decision taken by Knirsch and that the Germans from Audi did not get reach any agreement yet with US authorities on solving the problems with the 3.0 liters diesel engine, it seems that the involvement of the Ingolstadt manufacturer in the emission scandal is much higher than originally anticipated.
