Corvette Stingray To Get Two Special Editions Called Atlantic And Pacific
|   Monday, May 12, 2014
For customers who have a thing for special models, Chevrolet decided to launch two limited editions of the new Corvette Stingray. The modifications brought by the two models, dubbed the Atlantic and Pacific, are just visual however, the engines being identical to the one found on the standard model.

The Chevrolet Corvette Atlantic is a version with luxurious accents of the Corvette Convertible model. The version may differ from the normal variant through the front bumper inspired by the sporty Corvette Z06 and chrome rims.
Certain bodywork elements are painted in the Grey Shark color and the customer receives a luggage set specially designed for this model.

The Pacific Corvette Edition is available in coupe version only, and relies on a more aggressive look. Carbon fiber can be found on many parts, like the roof, mirror housings, while the front spoiler is left in sight. For a fierce countenance image, two black stripes are painted on the entire length of the bodywork.

It also adds calipers painted in red and satin black rims with red border. The interior is decorated with black upholstery with red stitching. Also found inside are sports seats painted black or red. The package is available in Torch Red, White Arctic, Black, Blade Silver and Gray Shark, and comes with a car cover.

Both special versions can be ordered with a seven-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic. Sales begin in the North American market in the second half of the year however prices have not been announced yet.

"One of the design goals for the Corvette Stingray was to provide customers with the flexibility to tailor the car to their personality. The Atlantic and Pacific Design Packages were originally designed to showcase how the Stingray could be configured as a luxury sport GT car or as a high-performance motorsport car," stated Kirk Bennion, Corvette exterior design manager.

The two concepts, Atlantic Stingray Corvette convertible and the Pacific Stingray Corvette coupe were introduced last fall at SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show. A strong positive response from consumers has influenced their bringing into actual. These are the latest Chevrolet concepts from SEMA who crossed over from concept to reality. Other examples of this include several Camaro models, like the Hot Wheels edition, and Sonic Dusk, which are now in production.

"We plan to make news with the Corvette Stingray every year, in part by offering special-edition models that offer a unique, personal ownership experience. Our customers have told us they appreciate these limited-edition models, which have become an important part of the Corvette's legacy" Todd Christensen, Corvette marketing manager, said.

Chevrolet is now one of the largest car brands in the world, and goes back to 1911 in Detroit.
Right now, the American company sells its cars in over 140 countries, and has successfully sold more than 4.9 million cars and trucks per year. It is thanks to the efficient vehicles as far as fuel consumption, performance, expressive design, and high quality go, that Chevrolet usually provides customers with that those number are achieved.
